Best. Mod. Ever.

I keep seeing this glitch on the forums. I think its again, some form of latency between the servers that run Bungie, a bit like the serial Private message symbol. *Shivers*

Its where I'm on a forum and it says that the lastest reply was by say... Goldhawk (No favoritism) and I go in the thread, but his post in nowhere to be seen. Its just happened to me again on M00zor's Largest group thread, where I posted a message. saw it, then go back to the Septagon main page to see Sir Fragula as the lastest poster. Thinking he has made a quick reply I go on to look and my post I just made isn't there! Neither is Darth_Eletius's post. I refresh and its the same.
Ggrr...

Anyone else have this problem?

Happened to me a bunch of times. The Bungie.net SQL server takes a long time to refresh, and frequently acts up. Either that, or the webmaster is drunk again. . .

It is called an "output cache." Updates on the forums are fairly quick considering the volume of posts. But as each web server handling bungie.net has its own copy of the cache, and you can hit a new web server each time, sometimes you'll notice little differences. But I'd hardly call it a critical issue - if you wait a few seconds and refresh, the threads will update.

It can be that if someone posted and was then blacklisted, they will still be the "last poster" but their post will have been hidden.

Nah, actually Achronos i had a couple posts that i could not see for a week. They weren't Blacklisted because they were the leaders of the group. It wasn't that critical but it was annoying so i just had the person send me the page in a PM.

Mourne not your comrades who must dwell / too strong to strive -
Within each steel-bound coffin of a cell, / Buried alive;
But rather mourne the apathetic throng / The cowed, and the meek -
Who see the world’s great anguish and its wrong / And dare not speak.

You could be talking about the glitch where the last page of a thread isn't shown. If that is that case, just change the page number in the url.
