Bungie already claimed that the Halo franchise has no connection with the Halo books. So why do u guys keep on insisting about Dr. hasley and other spartans and that stone that was found underneath the base in Reach.

lol, k, let me get this straight, the "halo" franchise has nothing to do with the "halo" books?

ok, if thats true, I guess the cheif magicly got armor and learned all his kick ass skills, and then magicly found a ring in the middle of la la land and then killed covanant that came out of nowhere. After all that, he magicly got to earth, same with johnson.

You must of missed a couple details. The books tell what happens in between the game and durring the game, if that is not involved, then I don't know what is !

Idiot. The books are direcly related to the Halo francise! They're the 2nd most impotant part of it! Yes, they ARE directly related to the story. Idiot!

Halo CE started after Reach fell to the covanant. It is after the book, "fall of reach"

Bring us a quote from an interview that supports your opinion.

'Cause I can bring you snippets from at least 4 interviews with as many people that contradict you.

Wow it might help to actually know what your talking about before making a topic on a public forum. The books are cannon for the games.

the book, The Flood is based on the events that happened during Halo CE, and yes the books are directly related to the game, bungie has even said that they had them written to help people fill in the gaps

But the storyline from the games could have progressed quite nicely without the books. They werent nescessary...

i think he is wrong, but people here (some) are wrong too. THere are other sppartans yes, and maybe you will see that in the game...but the point is, you won't have to read the books to understand everything, it's just...extra

The books are cannon as stated by Bungie. (I am not the internet so go look up the quotes yourself) Next the books are not "required reading to understand the games, but if you do read them you will gain a better understanding of the Haloverse. Last to say the books are not related to Halo is in fact a really stupid thing to say. Halo: The Flood is based on Halo 1 for crying out loud. You can read in description form what you saw happen in the game. If thats not officially connected I don't know what is.

get it straight man the Book "F.O.R" explains what happens before Halo CE, the book "Flood" explains the same thing as the game with more details and last but not least the book T.F.S explains what happend sfter Halo ce and before Halo 2

what he means is the books are based off the games, the games arent based off the books...the games make the rules for the halo universe and the games make the halo story, not the books, think of it like we have national law(game) and state law(books) now the state law can make rules and laws but if the national law says no thats not true national law wins...so books say hunters are colonys of worms if the game came out and said that there female grunts then there female grunts...not worms

"Would you like some more epic with that fail?"

Just putting my own two cents in, but Eric Nylund and Bungie have stated that they have a Story Bible that both the books AND games work off of together. The mentioning of the Story Bible is in the last one or two Weekly Updates when someone asks if the Story Bible will be released to the public and the quote from Eric Nylund I'll have to find again if anyone wants it (I think it was either in an interview or a thread I saw).

Add to this the simple and inescapable truth: the Bungie logo is on the back of all three of the Halo books. Beat that.

Stop flaming him. Frankie said at one point that the story line of the books don't coincide exactly with the story from the games. Bungie gave Nylund and Dietz a bit of creative freedom when writing them. It is in the updates...if you all really want proof go search for them. Does this mean the books won't coincide with Halo 3? No, does it mean they will coincide with Halo 3? No. Get your facts straight before you flame someone that is correct in what they say, where what should be happening is he should be flaming all of you for the fact that you "KNOW" something is true, when in reality it is not.

You people do know that Cortana was designed by Dr. Hasley, correct? As a sort of "ghost" image of herself? Connection to books proven. Game, set, match.

there were books released off of the Doom series too that had little to no connection to the games or movie...and the developers logo was on there too, the reason that bungies logo is on the back is cause bungie owns the rights of the halo franchise meaning they get a cut, just like in DoA bungie was in credits cuase of the spartan charecter that doesnt mean that in Halo 3 ur gunna be fighting ninjas or that master cheif is gunna meet up with that other spartan its all economics bungie wants to get money which is totally fine and the books sell so might as well print them
