Dear Bungie and the rest of the B.net community,

When I was about 5 years old, I got into video games. I first started out playing SMW, Star Fox, Mortal Kombat, and several other titles on the SNES. Then, I discovered the amazing thing that is PC gaming. My dad was, and still is, a huge PC gamer. The first game I ever played on the PC was Reading Blaster for ages 7-11. Learned a lot from it growing up. But one game made me scream with excitement and this was where my love for Bungie began: Oni. I fell in love with this game. Played it over and over.

But one amazing Christmas day, I received my first Xbox (thank God not the duke controller! My tiny hands wouldn't have been able to hold it!). I received two disks with this. Sega GT 2002, which was bundled with JSRF, and Halo: Combat Evolved. Needless to say which one I was more entertained with. Beat it on Legendary, played mutliplayer with my dad, and spent several countless hours playing this game after school. Halo 2 came along and I knew that this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. One unfortunate day though, my parents got divorced. I spent my time grieving by playing Halo 2 campaign (didn't have LIVE until '09).

A few years passed with a bitterness and loneliness in my heart until Halo 3 came along. This game was all the rage and everybody was talking about the graphics. What was I loving deep inside while watching videos because I didn't have a Xbox 360 at the time? Bungie. I remember in 7th grade how I was planning to help Bungie gain world domination. I was dreaming of slinging my enemies into a giant slingshot toward the sun. Bungie became a huge part of me. The Christmas ODST came, was when I got my Xbox 360. For two months of no Xbox LIVE, I spent my time searching for the audio diaries in ODST and living in New Mombassa in a stealthy, lethal fashion. Firefight was similar to UT 2004 so I was able to grab onto the concept quickly and began shooting with my favorite trooper, Mickey.

Now I am a junior in high school and live in Washington State. I am currently taking classes sponsored by DigiPen to learn C/C++. Once I graduate, I want to go to DigiPen as soon as possible. Why? Because after DigiPen, I plan on setting my goals on Bungie who is also in Washington state. Everything I am planning (such as my 13th year plan, Senior project, etc) is trying to aim directly towards being able to work for Bungie some day. So far, I believe I'm on the right track. My mind has been made up for a few years now. In a few more years, I'll be helping plot world domination. Here I come, Bungie!

Signed, A loyal B.net member,
Fuzzy Nugget.

Trying something once will increace your chances of success, because you tried it. Try someting twice, and your chances increase yet again - seeing as you've done it. Try something a few thousand times, and your chances of success is exponentially increased; this increase would likely provide success every time

Good read - good luck!

You're among friends, there are many people like you that want to aid Bungie and I am one of them. Good luck to you!

Not saying that you're crazy, of course. I wish I had my future as focused as you.

Ugh...

First on a BWU.. yeah, I'm cool.

ODST;MYTHIC Screenshot winner! One of the first to get their hands on the mythic map pack.

Start building your portfolio now if you haven't already. Start doing unique stuff. Start designing your own video games built around cool concepts, not story concepts but game mechanic concepts.

This will show any future employer, or possible employer what you're capable of. That you have a passion for games and you have the knowledge and drive to make games.

However, learn as much as you can about all the practical uses for computer science and programming. Game development is a pipe dream for most.. and you always need back ups.

I currently have a job at my local grocery store. I have a resume, portfolio, cover letter, references, etc. I have a few back-ups in mind but this is my #1 goal and I'll do practically anything to get it.

There comes a time in every mans life... and that time is not now.

I sincerely hope you do reach your goal. Be prepared to put in the hard work though, you need to go above and beyond to work at Bungie.

I came for Halo, but I heard the Tru7h, fought thru Carnage, and stayed for Bungie.

Go for it, why not? In a few months I will start working on what will hopefully be a Masters in Computer Science with a focus on programming languages. After that I too will head west for work and Bungie is certainly high on my list for places I want to work.

Thank you all for the support =)
I'd message you all individually about my gratitude, but I have to go to my less-than-Bungie-filled-love job. It's only a matter of time.

Im heading into the industry. At the moment there is lots of potential. But I see it slowing down because games like CoD are making the market stale.

Do what you love, but don't get your hopes set on Bungie, there are hundreds of companies out there.
