I do.
Back in the good ol' days of Halo 2, players created the first version of 'Infection' or 'Living Dead'.
All the players but one would start on the Red team with just a shotgun, and a sword as the secondary.
The lone Blue would use just the sword and try to 'infect' the Red team one by one, players would change teams to the Blue once killed by the Blue player.
- THE POINT OF THIS THREAD-
While all of this was going on, players would go ANYWHERE they could to avoid the Blue player(s), jumping onto whatever was around to get any sort of advantage on the 'zombie(s)'.
What happened to that?
Even in Halo 3, Bungie felt the gametype was fun enough for Matchmaking, and made a set of rules for it.
Those rules did NOT include "don't go up there, that's not fair" by placing 'kill zones' or 'invisible walls'.
Players had to simply man up, and deal with it.
That's how infection should be played.
I hate playing infection in Reach, with all the neat places you can jump to, but every single one has a god damn 'soft kill' on it.
Hell, sometimes you don't even have to jump to find a 'soft kill', some maps have them behind certain rocks and/or trees.
And on rooftops? Why bother building these awesome looking structures, only to say "hey, get off of that" with a damn 'soft kill'?
WTF? Excuse me, but in a zombie apocalypse, I'm not going to run around looking for zombies, are you stupid?
You find high ground, and hold your own, until you eventually run out of ammo. Then you get eaten by zombies, or punch your way out.
Infection isn't supposed to be zombie friendly. This retarded crap in Reach is just stupid.
I realize Bungie has no way to fix this, but I'm not going to 343, their website is crap.
tl;dr
Old infection is the best.
This Reach crap is stupid.
