Alright, its probably because I'm new to the Bungie environment or that I'm just plain old ignorant, but what other titles other than the obvious has Bungie produced? I'm pretty ashamed at the lack of variety in my PC gameware so perhaps some suggestions for a good classic game purchase from Bungie? Nothing too addictive, if that's possible.

Try to include your thoughts on the games, not just "play ______ cause it's cool", although I am willing to take some, but not alot, of ridicule for being so naive.

That is all.

God Bless.

wow. If only history class was that interesting, and as full of dry statyrical humour that we all know and love. I now have given myself the quest of scowering the ranks of Ebay and Amazon in search of some of these long begotten titles. If they sold a copy, I will get my hands on it. Nothing can stop me (save for out-of-stock stores and long lost game titles).

Thanks tons Shishka, must make your job painfully easy tailoring to the petty needs of green fans like me. I will remember you in my Oscar speech...

If you want to download marathon 1 and 2 for the PC, see here:

http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=481167

Some of the very old mac games are available as well, I can post the links if you are interested.

Also, if you have myth 2, you can download myth 1.

If you get a Mac Emulator, you can play Bungie's Mac only games.

thanks, more links would be cool, granted they are legal and such (don't want to distribute pirated software in the manufacturer's community now do we?) and if you have any points to a mac emulator that'd help to.

Personally I can't stand macs, other than the fact that they look sexy.

http://www.emulators.com. Haven't tried it yet, so not sure how well it works. Been thinking about it though.

A much better option is to get an actual Macintosh. A G3 iMac will do for all your old-school Bungie gaming needs. They're going on eBay at the moment from about US$60! Well worth it, in my opinion.

Mac fan?
Sounds tempting. I may have to climb off my high and mighty PC user pedastle and buy one. I will admit however I'm very tempted by the new G5's, specially now that they've gone with generic parts (ie vid cards and such). And for graphics and video, Macs kick ass.

I wish they'd just make more game titles for them. Thanks for the pointers.

Well, its hard to own a small company that sells and provides service to PC's in homes and medium business and own a Mac. That'd be more flack than I could take, my self esteem being as low as it is anyways.

Anybody got any suggestions for startingpoints to finding the ancient of classics of Bungie games, ebay? amazon? not sure, these seem to be dry wells so far.

Thanks again, I am eternally in gratitude. If you ever venture to Canada I'll buy you some good old fashioned Timmies.

Opps I missed this - Sorry... All of these links I found on these forums or off the official web page of the respective companys.

The following are mac only *old school* bungie games:
http://mac.the-underdogs.org/index.php?show=game&id=355 Operation Desert Storm
http://mac.the-underdogs.org/index.php?show=game&id=733 Gnop

Here are 2 games that bungie published:
http://www.pangeasoft.net/weekendwarrior.html Weekend Warrior - (Mac Only)
http://www.labyrinth.net.au/~trandor/abuse/ Abuse

The link I posted in my above post above will get you marathon 1 for PC as well as marathon 2 (Reiginko's link is a direct one for this). Marathon infinty, minotaur and pathways can no longer be bought, and we have no word on it's public availability.

I am currently writing a piece on how to get your hands on myth TFL and Myth II, will link to it when I am done.

wow, awesome. Thats perfect! Thanks many many many times over for this, you'll make a dedicated Bungie fan out of me yet. I'll have them downloaded and such by tonight probably and it'll give me something Bungie to play until my XBox and Halo arrive sometime this week. Does Bungie have an archive of sorts where this kinda stuff can be bought (likely at a premium obviously) or are the out of circulation titles simply that.

Personally I think Bungie should revisit it's roots and come out with a first/third person RPG of sorts, but now using the obscene skill and storyline capabilities they built up for the Halos. It be unparralleled methinks, perhaps (dare I say it) something that would be the game flagship, as the Halo franchise is now. Those are but my thoughts, likely no truth in them (for all those rumour starters, none of that has ever even been mentioned before...ever.) but I can dream can't I?

God Bless.

Bungie released a Mac CD containing many of their oldschool games. It was called the Mac Action Sack, and it contained the marathon series, abuse, minataur and pathways. The last one sold from the old bungie store about a month ago, so you are all out of luck, sadly. Bungie also released a CD pack for the Myth series called the Total Codex, with myth I, II and a plugin called chimera, I don't know if it can still be bought, but you might have luck with ebay or somesuch.

In your hunt for bungie games, you may have luck with Oni, it is more recient, and was released for PC, Mac and playstation.

ahh, heres my post. I go away for the weekend and it gets buried.

Thanks for the pointers, I've been browsing Ebay and such for the action pack. I heard mention of it before and didn't know what it was. I'm sure that somebody who bought one of these games is selling in somewhere in the world. Perhaps an easy option is to kiss Bungie's butt and slave for them for months on end in hopes of eventually getting my grubby paws on a copy of some old school games. Hmmm, almost seems easier than ebay.
