(Hoping to god i posted in the right forum, i never leave the Flood...)

Does a users title ever effect your first impression on them? For example: would you be more likely trust or read a Mythics post more/first over someone who's just a member?

You only die once, better make it count.

Not always.

  • 04.04.2012 6:02 PM PDT

Nope, for me it is the quality of the post.

Depends on the titles.

But usually I am going to listen to a Veteran Mythic Member over a Intrepid Heroic Member. The ones with Intrepid/Fabled and activity title just means they post a lot. Usually when they post they don't have brains in their heads. I like to think that they didn't 'earn' those titles. That isn't always isn't the case though, as there are some fairly intelligent/friendly people with those kind of titles.

In the end, though, it just comes down to the quality from the post.

Nope. How intelligent a post is affects my first impression.

So you might side with a guy with a veteran/no ban or warning title over someone with a high post count title? makes sense.

Not really, the only thing that I think of when I see a (Heroic, Legendary, or Mythic Member) is that they must follow the rules. Other than that, no.

  • 04.04.2012 6:08 PM PDT

There comes a time in every mans life... and that time is not now.

It depends on too many factors. I'd be lying if i said i don't pay even the slightest bit of attention to the colour of their title bar, but it never affects how i react to the post.

People may say, no, and they may be right, but subconsciously it may influence ones opinion, without their knowing.

Usually thats the case. As the ones with no bans/warnings seem to be more mature. Not always, but usually.

You are all loved beyond measure.
I, like you, am a light-sound-vibration complex that resonates with others. I have hopes and dreams and ambitions, just like you! I AM, and so are you! Yes, we are one and the same, you and I.

Yes. A first impression (less than a second) of a user you haven't seen before include that person's username, which includes seeing the title in the glance, and the length and general fullness of the post. Reading the post develops the impression. I am not more likely to read them based on title because I don't skip posts.

I try not to let it influence me too much but sometimes i cant help it. I do my best to give everyone the same amount of respect and such but when i see a noble mythic or something like that i usually put them on a higher pedestal (depending on the topic and post of course) if its a silly thread, everyone is equal. When its not, well, i lean toward veteran users. Not proud of it but thats human nature...

Not really, no.
I just read peoples posts and then form an impression upon them from that.

  • 04.04.2012 6:20 PM PDT

I hope not.

  • 04.04.2012 6:22 PM PDT

I'd have to say the orthodoxy of ones' post reflects my first impression. Titles can be a liable factor at random occasions, but I generally stick to reading nearly every post in a thread I'm heavily interested in.

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Sometimes.

The title can sometimes tell me if the guy is being serious or not.

By the way, nice to see you here once more nacho ;)
