Key

The opinion of anyone but myself who isn't in Mythic Members is wrong.

Trying something once will increace your chances of success, because you tried it. Try someting twice, and your chances increase yet again - seeing as you've done it. Try something a few thousand times, and your chances of success is exponentially increased; this increase would likely provide success every time

Mythics are just as stupid as members, it's just that we've become better at: trolling, detecting sarcasm, and we are more experienced with the gray areas. The only difference is time, but let's be straight - every member group has it's a-holes, spammers, trolls, & good peeps.

So no, titles don't sway my impression; admittedly if they're using the same avatar they get a bit of brownie points, for having good taste ;-).

  • 04.04.2012 6:47 PM PDT

Nope, not at all. It's what they actually post that gives me an idea of how they are.

  • 04.04.2012 6:50 PM PDT

I'm a stubborn guy. I love to argue my opinion, but unlike others, I'll try to see your side of the problem. I'm a triathlete, with a very heavy empephis on the swimming bit. Also, don't hate on the ~Quinton~ at the end of my posts. Why are you still reading this? #creeper #hashtagcashmoney for hashtaging on Bungie.net

Mythic posts a troll thread, still a troll thread.

Member posts a troll thread, still a troll thread.

It doesn't matter to me. Now I will laugh harder when a Mythic posts a troll thread and gets banned or something of the such.

Sing for me, will ya?

I tend to trust someone more if they have a Mythic or Legendary bar.

  • 04.04.2012 6:55 PM PDT

I'd like to be half-man half-tree in an octopus' garden in the shade.

I only read posts by Mythic members. Yes, that includes my own. So I don't have an impression of other members.

Nope, for me it is the quality of the post.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Mythics are blue trolls

You are thinking of Smurfs.

Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.
~M.D~

Uhhmm yeah. legendary and below I don't care what their title is

  • 04.04.2012 7:11 PM PDT

Checking out my profile I see?

On first glance I'll assume that people with higher titles will be more mature, seeing as they have refrained from being banned. Upon reading the post I make my final decision.

Titles try to help tell you what a user is like; but it makes little difference, especially after I read more of their posts. And I certainly won't treat a user any different based solely on their title, as I wouldn't treat a person differently based on what color of shirt they wear.

I suspect llamas are secretly wizards. I <3 poptarts n' milk. I like me. Grimick is defined as: a logical parodox, the act of funnaling a potato down your throat, and a deliciously flavored muffin (with pecons and blueberries). Norway is the Swedish word for 'moron'. My sister has cancer, so i get to use handicap parking and cut small children in line at Disneyland.

"Don't eat doughnuts on thin ice."

"The pancake, my friend, has officially been flipped."

Nah, usually anybody above heroic membership doesn't make a first impression on me because i've already met them.

Not really. However, I normally don't notice any titles because 9/10x I'm on this site I have the coup script enabled.

This thread would have appealed to me more if it was written with crayons.

I broke one of the cords for my X11s because I couldn't get past the final American course in Doritos Crash Course.

For me its a combination of avatar, tile and username. I think the title bar is the first thing you notice because it covers a large amount of space and its at the top of the post, so you cant really help but notice it.

Although, I think the only thing that it really distinguishes between is if someone is joking/the seriousness of the thread. If I read a mythic member post about something slightly ridiculous or obvious I will think he/she is probably joking. If it's a new grey bar I'll think a bit harder and maybe read it more than once before posting.

At the end of the day the title bars seem to serve its purpose, its just difficult to explain why which is why there are so many threads about it.

[*Please note that anything in my posts is likely to be filled with sarcasm, and should be taken with a pinch of salt. I tend to help people, usually*]

It gives me an idea of their prestige and history with the site, comparatively to their join date.

And by prestige, I just mean their activity levels and trust-ability.

A Heroic member who joined in 2004 either has a lot of bans up their sleeves, or doesn't really come here that often.

A Mythic member who joined in 2009 clearly understands the rules (whether or not they skirt or abide by them is another matter) and is heavily active.

That's the extent I can figure from first-impressions, and seems to be accurate by all accounts.

  • 04.04.2012 8:10 PM PDT

I read a lot of post, so I know titles don't affect me there. Depending on the topic I could go either way on "trusting" the post.

After a while you get use to spotting people that have been here as long or longer then you based on the whole Avatar/Name/Bar Color and you get a idea of who is helpful and who is not.

$x='print chr(36),"x=",chr(39),$x,chr(39),";\n",$x; ';
print chr(36),"x=",chr(39),$x,chr(39),";\n",$x;

I work at Microsoft. I have nothing to do with Halo and nothing I say is "the official word".

If I see an obviously questionable thread by a standard member I'm way more likely to check their profile to decide if I think they're an alt.

Beyond that, all that actually matters is if I recognize the person or not.

Have you seen my mind anywhere? I seem to have lost it...

0x0 x0x 0x0 000 000 x0x 000
x0x 0x0 0x0 0xx 000 0x0 000
x0x x0x x00 0xx 0x0 x0x 0x0

I have seen you future

If a thread catches my eye from the title (of the thread) then I'll enter it and look through, regardless of who posted. Then I'll judge the post based on its contents.

The only thing that can make me more likely to read/look at a post is if I know the person who is posting it.

"I'd have to say Lockout was the worst"

I'm pretty sure that's heresy, and that it conflicts with the "Code of Manliness" - page 792, section E subsection D paragraph 3.2. I suggest you relay that statement.

Yeah they do a bit. Chances are a mythic has been around longer and a bit more mature than others who just piddle around.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

Sometimes.

  • 04.04.2012 8:48 PM PDT

Not all the time. Title really should not affect you they could be just as right as a mythic member when they post.
