This is the Internet, people are misinformed all the time.

  • 04.06.2012 9:43 AM PDT

It's easy to forget that people don't have the same level of communication with Bungie as we do.
I'm sure if you went on, er, Rockstar's forums and started asking about how they made LA Noire you'd get a similar response.
Like people said, we are on the internet after all. It's like a giant game of Chinese whispers on here.

  • 04.06.2012 10:03 AM PDT

IIIIIII

I don't believe any information about Bungie unless it's from a stranger's uncle who works there, to be honest.

Telephone game?

When I was at school, it was "Chinese Whispers".

Also, it's not a big deal. I know what Ken is getting at is "lol people are soooo stupid thinking that! The truth is SOOOO obvious! Why can't they see it?!" to which I reply: they really don't care enough to research, so they'll learn the truth when the truth becomes a wildfire.

Which, I'm sure, will be corrupted in some form.

"Bungie's next game will run 1 million AI 100000-poly characters on-screen at once at 120 FPS!"

People don't read and people are silly enough to believe rumors.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

That is not what I am thinking at all. I think there are some serious issues in where people are getting their info though. Kust an observation.

Well, Ken, it's always a good idea to, whenever a triviality arises, post about it in the community forum (whilst brandishing a holier-than-thou attitude, of course).

If you:

A)have all of the facts
B)like to think you have all of the facts
C)can make a more educated opinion

then go ahead and correct whoever is doing you the grievous misdeed of being "misinformed". Otherwise, it's best just to not pay mind to people who aren't following up on the news all of the time, even if it's super crazy mega important stuff pertaining to Bungie! I know how it must feel to have met people who don't have the slightest clue about what's going on at Bungie or may even not care, but don't despair: you can simply tell them (which I'm sure would be totally in your capacity, I mean, it has to get out there, right?), or even better, ignore them instead of calling everybody to arms about an issue that doesn't really seem to be affecting anybody at all.

Sworn to avenge our fallen brothers!
Sons of the gods, today we shall die.
Open Valhalla's door!
Let the battle begin, with swords in the wind! Hail Gods of War!

Ever heard of the telephone game? Yeah.... this. People who do not get their information about Bungie directly from Bungie.net (which, in all likelihood, are most people) are certain to hear a slightly corrupted message.

Correct them and then go on about your day.

"We live in a special time; the only time where we can observationally verify that we live in a very special time" - Lawrence Krauss.

I was a finalist :P

Not all Bungie fans are members of this site; so they're not going to recover every bit of information being told to us here. When they do come here for an answer - and maybe it being their first time coming here - they probably wouldn't know completely what goes where. The informatitive message about "Halo no longer being controlled by Bungie" might not even provide enough information to answer their question, or might not relate to their question at all.

There's no need for someone to get worked up by the occasional question which could be answered if the person asking the question looked hard enough.

Dianna Agron is the epitome of perfection.

Quinntology.

This has been going on ever since Bungie announced the split with Microsoft. Not these exact rumors, but close. You're a little late with the question...

Also, I propose that anyone who copy and pastes "Bungie is no longer managing the Halo Universe. While our Halo-related forums and stats remain available, be advised that "official" answers and support about the Halo Universe (past, present, or future) are not." as a reply to a post should at least get a warning. Just sayin.

Ken, you shouldn't worry about it too much, look at the Flood for instance, so many individuals think their intel is the right intel and it leads to major conflicts thus burring the facts under a mountain of opinionated crap. It's like a three way firefight.

Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

Nothing to worry about. You're just part of the wave of new generation members learning to look at and read the community, instead of simply posting in it.

Nah, not anarchy. Just a misunderstanding between immediate attention and long term return investment.
