Name's John. I'm a 21-year-old firefighter/EMT from lolhio who doubles as a die-hard Halo fan. I've been enjoying the franchise since 2001. My favorite iteration of Halo would have to be Halo 2 simply because I never got to experience the joy of a full-on Halo: CE LAN.
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
Oh yeah, and boot Zome.

Aggression or at least smart, non-passive play is typically the way you want to go. At some point, it stops being helpful being 5 and 1 if you're sitting back playing "defensively" as opposed to pushing with your team and at the very least putting shots on people. That's at higher competition levels, of course, but the same principle applies in casual play or whatever you do.
In Asylum, I usually hang out at our sniper and put shots into people, but they count as Assists and my teammates are usually so congested, they die before they can finish the kill.
The best place to be on Asylum is ring, their street, and either carbine. You want to base yourself in ring, and move to any of the other spots to get shots on people without leaving yourself too open to die.
So maybe extend to Card if I don't get snipe and try to support the rushers?
Never heard of card, but if that's a mid-map position, then sure. As long as you are in a position where you can support your team with lower chance of dying and without sacrificing map control. You almost never want to go to their side in slayer unless it's to grab their sniper or distract them in hut while your team spawns so you have a significantly lower chance of losing map control.
