Subject: Elites in halo 4?

As we all know, in Halo 3 the elites rose against the covenant and fought with humanity. They then left and went back to their own planet at the end, going to live in peace. So, will the sangheili be in Halo 4, will they fight at all? And if so, whose side will they be on. Elites are definately the most badass race, so i definately hope they are on it.

omg not realistic stop game production plz

Frank O'Connor confirmed that "the Covenant" (i.e. the member races such as the Elites, because the Covenant alliance was broken in Halo 3) will be returning and that we will fight them, although they will be "the least of our worries".

So yes Elites will return. And maybe we will fight them apparantly, although I can't see why...

I agree with this completely. Although, in my prediction, they will fight with the Master Chief to destroy whatever new threat is on the map. Elites are not a race that lose they're loyalty so easily. They figure they are extremely indebted to us. If called upon by Chief, they will fight.

If you read Glasslands it might change your opinion. I haven't but I think it say's some Elites want to fight against humanity again and some don't.
And in all honesty I don't think the Sangheili owe humanity anything, they saved our asses and we're currently weaker than we have been at any time during the Human Covenant War.
And another thing. John 117 isn't the leader of the Elites or the embassador of Humanity, he can't just call upon them like he's their leader and expect them to obey him.

I agree they may fight with us again, but not because we owe them or because they're our dogs or because Master Chief's there. They'd fight because they're an intelligent and honorable species and they know what is right for them to do.

The Covenant are going to be in Halo 4, it's a given, and Frank said it himself, but I don't know much more.

Sorry if I'm wrong here, but the Elites left the covenant did they not? So, saying the covenant are confirmed does not means the elites are.
Back to OP, I think yes. Would be nice to see the Arbiter and Chief back along side each other again

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

They're not in multiplayer, but...

*small spoilers*

I know they're the first enemies Chief comes in contact with. Other than that, I don't know how big of a role they'll have in Halo 4.

Yes the Elites did leave the Covenant during the Great Schism. The schism occured because the Prophets replaced the Sangheili (Elites) with the Jiralhanae (Brutes) as their Honor Guards. Also the Sangheili and some of the other races realised that San 'Shyuum (Prophets) were lying about the "Great Journey" at this point in time.
Any of the covenant forces that left during or after the schism be they Mgelekgolo (Hunters) or Unggoy (Grunts) are known as Separatists.
Only Sangheili separatists were seen in Halo 3 to prevent confusion.
*Possible Minor Spoilers*
Back on topic, the Sangheili are confirmed if the leaks from the next issue of the Game Informer magazine are true.
*Spoilers End Here*

EDIT: On what SEAL Sniper 9 said, some Sangheili wish to fight against humanity again whilst some are human sympathisers and wish to remain allied with them.
With this information in mind, I'm expecting them to be an enemy but possibly also an ally.
On another point, I'm really dissapointed the Sangheili aren't in Halo 4 multiplayer. They're by far my favourite race with their honor and fighting prowess.

We don't know that. All we know is that a fleet of Covenant ships attacked the Dawn, and that Elites tried to kill Chief. I'd find it unlikely that there are Human sympathizers anyway.

Yes, Cortana mentioned to Chief that they may be a rogue group of Covenant (and it makes sense, so I think she's right).

I also don't think we should rule out the possibility of the Covenant forces in Halo 4's first mission being more along the lines of pirates, searching for whatever scraps are left.

This is basically post-apocalyptic.

I think they look like the aliens they are. They're really not supposed to be pretty-looking.

That's the San Shyumm...Somehow...Don't ask.

"Looking pretty" isn't what's wrong looking imo. They look weak and fragile. Their arms are skinny, their hands look small and their shoulders are extremely narrow. Not the look of an alien capable of matching a Spartan in terms of brute strength. Their feet are like bricks, and disproportionately large. Minor things are their sudden loss of skin pigment and the melanomas growing up their arms.

Hmmm, I see what you're getting at. I'm not up to date with Elites, but I think the picture shown in the leak is a Minor Elite? If that's the case, then maybe they did that on purpose to make the superior Elites make you sh1t your pants. I could be wrong, though, haha. Just throwing it out there. :p

They just look bizarre to me. The armor is not pretty, the absence of forearm armor is pointless and makes them look like they're wearing shortsleeve armor and they are hunched over too much. And the BOOTS. Oh man what is going on with their boots......

The art direction of Halo 4 is very disappointing. First the Warthog, then the BR, and now the Elites. The only thing I vaguely like is the new look MC and that change seems utterly pointless to me.

343i don't seem to want to keep anything the way it was, but their standard of artistic direction and feel is nowhere near as focused and refined as Bungies work.

I totally agree, also their armor is awful. They just want redesign everything, which I find completely pointlessly and even re-design it is going seriously wrong. Why would they remove the forearms? Armor is supposed to protect, exposing the arm is the stupidies idea, what is 343 thinking?

To be fair to 343 they wanted to make the Reclaimer Trilogy their own as they are a different company from Bungie. I think they're deviating a little too much from what we all know and love as Halo though, and I doubt many of the major changes proposed thus far will go down well with the majority of the current Halo fanbase.
In my opinion I really hope they take all the negativity about these leaks into account and make the game better than what we're currently seeing.

Hate the idea of no arm protection as well as It will be worse not having them in multiplayer since there wont be An Invasion gametype :(

(Spoilers)

But the elite with Red armour does look cool, But the helmet seems like it was pasted from Section 8

There is nothing wrong with change as long as its a positive change. The new Elite look, in my opinion, is significantly worse looking than any previous incarnation of the Elite. I wish 343i had a better artistic style to work towards....

I must admit all this Halo4 stuff has been getting to me lately.... Really worried about the future of Halo.

As am I; and I think it is mainly because I am used to Bungie making Halo. It's going to be hard for me to get used to another company making the game I love.

Apparently a Covenant force entered the ship that Chief was on and that's what woke him up.
