I want to see if people could see any competitive use of the Fuel Rod gun.
Pros + Cons of this debate:
Rocket pros:
- The most basic and go-to heavy weapon in mostly all maps, simply because it's seen a lot and is quite a balanced weapon if set in a map properly.
- Very good splash damage can make or break games, namely exterminations, minor multikills.
- Anti-air Lockon ability.
Rocket cons:
- Close quarters situations, where if you have a guy bolting you with a sword or is going to slap you with a fist, you have no other choice but suicide.
-Very slow moving bullet, but faster than fuel rod overtime.
Fuel Rod pros:
- The Fuel Rod is a very underrated but overpowered gun if it has too many clips in. By underrated, I mean it is only in 3 maps, Spire, Timberland Anniversary, Asphalt and formerly Cragmire.
- Takes a little more skill to use than a rocket, instead of blasting the crap out of your enemy, you have to shoot at them deadset due to the wimpy splash damage.
- Has a higher fire rate than rockets do.
- Has more than twice the clip of a rocket, but this has no backup clips.
- Safe to use in CQC situations.
Fuel Rod cons:
- For a second the Fuel Rod has a faster bullet than a rocket, but after that it's slower than a rocket.
- Has no anti-air lock-on, not to be confused with the Banshee bomb with is a Fuel Rod with Rocket splash damage.
- Has a habit of ricocheting off walls.
I'd actually would like to see the Fuel Rod in use a bit more in 4v4 Slayer maps.
