Ok, as the title says, I have a problem with my computer based on the brightness problem. Well, ever since I got this computer, I've always had this problem: Every video, picture, etc. I see on the computer is always dark. Its not that bad when the picture or the video takes time at daytime, but when it's nighttime...MAN, I can't see a single thing. For example, when I see the screenshots from the B.net HaloPC screenshot section, they're all dark unless the maps are daytime. I havent really complained about this to anyone, since it was the least of my concerns, considering all those harmful viruses, and annoying IMers out there, the brightness wasnt that important. But when I go on my friends or my cousins computer, everything is so clear. Do you guys know how I can adjust my screen, so that it doesnt make my desktop or the files so freakin' bright, but like, make the pictures and videos brighter so I can finally see them? Not only does this affect my multimedia and picture seeing experince, but when I installed my Halo, I had to make my Halo brightness like 14x brighter, in order to make it as light as all of yours' default brightness. My default brightness for Halo is so dark, and I know it's the same problem I'm telling you guys about right now. So can you guys help me out here? Thanks for all of your help in advance, and feel free to mock me all you want if you feel this thread is stupid...

Yes, but that's my question. How? Sorry if I'm forcing you to waste more of your time, OmniosSpartan...

I'm embarrased to say this, but I have integrated chipsets. Does having integrated chips affect my brightness settings?

Tch, don't be embarassed by it. Some really good players play on integrated chipsets. Of course, they can never be good at some games like Call of Duty 2 because they don't have a computer that can handle such graphics intensive games.

All of the settings makes no difference unfortunately, and when i wen back to the original state, all my program icons and browser settings were all mixed up. I'm going to reboot my computer now, brb. But it's not your fault OmniosSpartan. ;)

Yeah,what my awesome friend Master Kim(no literally,hes a friend on Halo PC and on Xbox Live)said,I use a 2002 Dell Dimension 4600 integrated video card,and I think I am pretty good.And so does many of my friends.But I can't stand intergrated cards anymore.That's why I'm buying a Geforce 6600 GT(AGP) or Geforce 7600 GT(AGP).

I think I am pretty good.
We will see, once I get a chance to kick your butt to the one-thousandth-three-hundred-thirty-seventh power. (I already have on Halo 2. XD)

I can't wait to send armor-piercing SABOT rounds with my sniper rifle through your battle suit on HPC, send three pistol shots through your head, send you flying twenty feet into the air with the rocket launcher, and give you a faceful of buckshot with a shotgun. Not to brag, and I don't want to sound like we're lovers or anything, but I've kicked plenty of rear-ends, and I think yours is going to be pretty sore by the time I'm done with it.

:P

Try going into your video setting in Halo and cranking the Gamma up, a lot. I can see so much better after I did that. It looks prettier too.

Yepp, that's what I did in Halo, but I do believe i told you guys that in the top post...lol but I don't blame you.

Here:

Well, actually, I think I only brightened it up about 8-9x. I was exaggerating there for a bit.

But I'm not worried about that right now, my question is, how can I adjust the brightness of my screen? It's hard to see montages, videos, and pictures, when everything's so dark...

Which reminds me of a question i had awhile back. Why do the Shotguns in the Halo games use buckshot? Slugs make more sense to me.

I must agree. Halo takes place around the year 2252, and you'd think that they'd use slugs, or a more advanced form of ammunition. Slugs are quite effective and devastating and quite accurate and close and long range, but buckshot is for when you want to clear a room quickly. I think the military mostly uses slugs, or a mix of slugs and buckshot. But hundreds of years in the future, don't you think technology would advance so far that buckshot would become outdated and impractical? Some of the weaponry in general in Halo are quite outdated. Pump-action shotguns in 2252? Please.

(Thanks for improving on your typing, OmniosSpartan.)

I so agree with you Master Kim and OmniosSpartan. Buckshots are good for room and trench clearing uses, but slugs are more efficient in longer range, and is more accurate. I wonder why the UNSC still uses buckshot enabled pump action shotguns, I mean c'mon, it's not good for even geurilla (< did i spell that right?) warfare...

Anyways, about my question, does anyone know how to? I saw some sweet montages on my cousin's computer yesterday, and when I checked them out in my computer, I can't see crap. It's so dark...
