I have reason to believe Gravemind is an infected Forerunner but before i argue my point i would like to clear up a point. Please correct me if i am wrong.
1. Halo was designed to kill all of the flood's food.
Okay now we can start.
Gravemind is unlike the rest of the Flood who act similar to animals instead of a thinking being. Gravemind, on the otherhand has a mind, a sophisticated one. He is probolay more inteligent than us after all, the Forerunner were able to build massive constructs with stable atmospheres and the ability to destroy nearly all life.
Now you might say "How could he have survived 100,000 years since the last activation of Halo? My answer is this. As the Forerunners were Forerunners to the Covenant they had built or at least tampered with plasma. Sgt. Johnson had had an accident involving plasma and is now immune to the flood and posseses regeneative capabilites. Something similar must have happened to Gravemind after infection.
Now this is rather unoffical but, according to some theories the Forerunners were playing with Humans and the Covenant. If this were true it could support the fact that Gravemind is a Forerunner as he understands the Covenant, the Humans, and the Setinal. Another theory suggests that he can manipulate the teleporters to get around which would be difficult to do without knowledge of them. As a Forerunner, he probolay know where they are and how to activate them.
If im right imagine what his role will be in Halo 3.
I'll add more if I can find more information.
So what do you think?
