Even if PS3 can top future graphics, how well can its gamepad compare to the keyboard and mouse when it comes to MMORPGs, real-time strategy games, etc.? PS3's got nothing on PC, I say.

I think it has a HUGE advantage over a good gaming pc : Price. A gaming pc with equivilant specs would cost like $1500.

Aw man, so I'll need Vista in order to run Halo2...I have 50 bucks in my wallet just waiting to be spent on it...oh well, I guess I'll just get either Doom 3, Call of Duty 2, or Half Life 2 with it...

Thanks guys, for answering my question.

Oh and btw, ImSpartacus, PPU IS physics processor unit...

To be honost with you guys, I think PPU's are just like SLI. They arent neccessary, but do help out preformance a little. I mean look at SLI. A single 7900GT can run any game out there on full settings with like 90fps, but in SLI you can get like 20 extra fps. I have a feeling PPU's are gonna be the same thing. They will take a little bit of the load off, but if your processor is good enough, especially with all the dual core cpu's, it will help out some. I dont think its gonna be amazing, but it will help out some.

ppu will rule the world

Oh you knew what it meant? Sorry dude, didn't know that you knew it...

Anyways, but what am I going to do with my 50 bucks then? OMG, I can hear it right now, screaming, because the bills hate me and want to be owned by some EB Games store clerk...

Holy crapxxorz...I completely forgot about the GeForce FX5500 card I'm saving up for...hey, thanks for reminding me not to spend my money on games. xD

It will help to increase framerate, but thats not its main purpose. All of the information goes through the CPU first then to the graphics card to be processed. The ppu will take a load off of the CPU allowing it to do more work and get the info to the gpu.

Like I said, its definately not worth it until theyre really cheap. Most good processors now are fine and can handle games well. I dont see any mid range processors struggling to keep up with videocards and high end games.
