they shouldn't show his face. the true halo players can enjoy the story without having to see his face. it's like an old sci-fi movie where the movie is truly scary in its own way until they actually show the monster and it just disappoints because it looks like a giant toy spider or something. i don't think that there is anyway to live up to the expectations of peoples imaginations, and it would probably be best left never showing anything. but here are the things that should happen. any one will cause a huge controversy so it really wouldn't matter which one bungie chose:
A.never show his face, and don't even hint at it
B.have the chief die an epic death, and aliens and marines alike gather around his body by the hundreds, and the arbiter kneels over him and removes his helmet finally revealing the slain chief, and then his body is carried away like at the end of "Gladiator", and the camera angle could pan out slowly to reveal the huge procession slowly following the chief's body, and hidden in the masses bungie could put simmons, sarge, griff, doughnut, church, caboose, tucker, and the rest of red vs. blue as little nuggets to found
C. same as B but when the arbiter kneels over him to remove his helmet and the players are on the edge of their seat watching every second as the arbiter unlatches the seals around the chief's helmet hoping to see the face of their hero once and for all the black marine dude that always smokes a cigar stops him just as he reveals a tiny sliver of albino skin, and tells him to put the helmet back on.
D. reveal his face as he is dying like darth vader in return of the jedi.
