I changed usernames to match my gamertag. My original account, wambo114, was created when I got xbox live. I'm a 2007 kid really!

It's the 12th of April today! I don't think it will be Achronos' date because he was all about this site, rather than the game.

Does anyone know which Tim it is? According to some dubious sources, Tim Williams is a production engineer, and Tim Dadabo was 343GS.

Sort of relevant.

In memory of those fallen in the defense of Earth and her colonies.

March 3, 2553

Well, if its something to do with the coding...... and on a specific day...... it will be damn near impossible to find.

Even after 5 years of Halo 3, its still got stuff to deliver. Amazing.

...Can we atleast get a "its in the A: Campaign , or B: Multiplayer" hint?
Ooh...such a hint would be interesting indeed. I have to say it's not what you'd expect.

Does this mean that it could only appear in Forge or Theatre?

I doubt Theatre, I'm guessing Customs/Forge.
Possibly only a certain gametype, ie. Infection / Flag etc.

I just watched the end credits again for clues and near the end of the credits there is two dates.

JonnyOThan said it's neither of those dates.

This is interesting

  • 04.12.2012 6:28 PM PDT

It is from a programmer to a loved one. Probably an anniversary of some sorts and it's personal, why keep trying at the near impossible?

  • 04.12.2012 6:46 PM PDT

There is a sign on Foundry that says

5/14 <------ DATE

Could be it.

Possible.
But even with that date, do we assume its Multiplayer or Campaign or something else?

Mail Sack 13 seems to expand on this. It is hidden in the loading screen apparently, I'm guessing it is when the Bungie logo "fragments", people always tried to find something there.

I love Halo, I have played it since the beginning, even though I may not have had Xbox Live back then. Marathon is also a pretty good game. I have been here on Bungie.net longer but got a new account and I am looking forward to Bungie's next game. My old account got hacked.

Thank You Bungie! For the best games and Recon Armor. Also thanks for the early access to the Halo: Reach Beta!

Are they the same easter eggs?

  • 04.13.2012 2:53 PM PDT

Hanger one I just shredded with the SMGs until ammo was out and I just threw 'nades like a boss while BRing.

My experience playing Cairo Station on Legendary

Bah, I am willing to bet that this Easter Egg is much like the "Ling-Ling" Halo 2 Easter Egg on Zanzibar. I'm a little disappointed that no one has cracked any bit of the code. Then again, I suppose it'd be fairly difficult to pick out something so discrete.

I broke one of the cords for my X11s because I couldn't get past the final American course in Doritos Crash Course.

Here's my theory, on Adrian Perez's anniversary (whatever day that is), you put in a certain button combo during the loading screen and a message appears that is written to his wife.

  • 04.13.2012 8:26 PM PDT

AD

Showing my wife the Easter egg I put in the halo 3 loading screen for her - the one that nobody has found yet.
Adrian Perez

i would like to say i think i have found it, i'm not sure if i am looking at the right screen, but it's worth a shot.

In the video at the :20 second mark, look at the top left of the screen. there is a faint image of a woman in the flash. it's much easier to see on the xbox.

  • 04.13.2012 8:48 PM PDT

Goodbye Bungie.

I'm starting to lose faith that we will ever find it... :(

So, how do we find his anniversary?
It doesn't say here, or here or even here.

  • 04.13.2012 11:31 PM PDT

Goodbye Bungie.

I'm beginning to think that if we all just sent them messages pertaining to this easter egg, they'll give us more hints. If a good 20 people make an e-mail into the Mailsack, then they will definitely acknowledge it. So let's do it!

Maybe this migth be it:

found in mail sack 13

Yeah, we figure that must be it.

They don't seem that willing to give hints that are too obvious.
I PM'd JonnyOThan and the only thing he said was it wasn't the two dates that Bungie fan no7 posted that are from the end credits.

I don't see anything, are you sure you aren't seeing things? It is supposed to be a message and only appear on a certain day anyway.

That is from the Halo 3 E3 2007 Trailer. It has nothing to do with the in-game loading screen.

Edit: Also, I'm wondering, what is the exact definiton of the "loading screen" in this game? Is it the end of a mission, while it's loading the next one?

If it was for his wife.It probably is her birthday or valentines day or anniversary.

The guy's name is adrian right? Because the two dates after the credits one said "I love you sweatpea" by tim.

I was onto something there.

It would be easier if it was Valentines Day.

Also, updated the OP with the new news.

The only things we know so far for definite is;
- Happens on a specific day
- Happens in a loading screen

If we can figure out the date for definite, that would narrow down the search, by a lot.

I figure the only genuine "loading screen" is when you complete a mission without scoring on, and it's loading the next one.
The rest of the loading is done in lobby.
Therefore, it must be in Campaign.

If that is the case, is it level specific? Or is it only activated in the loading screen?
If it is activated in the loading screen, then it's likely a button combination, I guess.
