Subject: 15 Marines Vs 1 Spartan

"You are who you dare"

You owe it to yourself to get out and be someone. Get to work!

-Leader of The Citadel

The Spartan would wreck them. I mean wreck them.

Hell, I bet 1 Ultra Elite with a concussion rifle could take on a group of standard Marines.

You know what? I think a Fork Lift controlled by a grunt might be able to take them.

Anything is possible. Most times the Spartan will win, however, the Marines could win if they managed to get the element of surprise.

And a lot of rocket launches. Or a hidden sniper.

All that fancy armor can't protect them from a .50 to the head. That being said, the plot armor Chief has could probably deflect an ICBM.

If I recall, Chief beat around 10 ODSTs in one of the novels. And ODSTs are better than Marines.
And he was 15 years old too.

No, he was 41. That was during the live test of the Mark V/Smart AI piggyback mode, Cortana told John that 10 ODSTS waited for him to step outside of the place he was in before shooting him.

He beat down 4 ODSTS in unarmed combat when he was 14 but that was because he didn't know his strength at the time, given how he had just gotten out of the augmentation procedures days prior.
He's not even 41...

My bad, he is 45 now, if we go by Halo 4 timeline.

I would like to thank the Academy.

Spartan probably. One or two bullets is all it takes to finish off a Marine. You need a lot more against a Spartan.

The Spartan is also better trained to they have better aim, strength, speed, etc. The Spartan could toy with the Marines and take them out one by one and mess with their heads.

I think what SEAL sniper meant was that when John was a teeneager he killed three ODSTs in hand to hand combat. Not ten, just three.

No, he meant the Mark V testing, but Centurion confused it with the ODST incident.

Positive vibes.

I suppose it depends on how well the marines are trained, as well as the spartan. If you have 15 marines who have never fought a fight in their life, and a spartan who has years of experience, my guess is the spartan would win; and vice versa.

:)

You and Me and the Devil makes three.

Think of it like this.
Whole flood army and covenant Vs 1 Spartan
< 1 Spartan

I would think the Spartan, simply due to superior training and their shields. However, if the marines see the Spartan first, and focus there fire, then the Spartan wouldn't last long. Conversely, if the Spartan sees the marines first, the marines are going to die quicker, simply because they are less armored than a Spartan. I think it would come down to who sees who first, but I'm leaning towards the Spartan.

Marines.

Source: Halo: CE, Halo 2, Halo 3...

Kill a marine and watch them all kill you in a split second.

Lol in-game gameplay does not equal canon.

And anyways I killed all the marines in Halo:CE, Halo 2 and Halo 3, ODST, Reach...and survived :)

With the exception of the PoA 1st level in Halo 1 next to keyes. :(

Oh really? I guess a superheated bolt to a normal human's chest doesn't kill them then.

You got to make a distinction between each generation of spartans. Not counting the I's, the II's would have a good chance depending on the situation, but would most definitely be gunned down 9 out of 10. Spartan III's = Dead, unless they can cloak and dagger their way out of it.

In a gentleman's match, Spartan II's = Mostly Dead. Spartan III's = Always Dead.

Marines = Training and lots of it. So don't give me that crap about the training disparity between chief and the marines. As long as they are not in boot camp, 15 marines will do fine.

Considering how the Spartan III's were already fighting the Covenant and Insurrection when they were 10, I think they have better odds than the II's.

Try it out in halo wars just to get an idea (I know it won't be accurate)

  • 04.10.2012 2:23 PM PDT

well, if the spartan is MC, he would definately win.
Otherwise, perhaps the large number of marines would be too much for the spartan.
