The community has been infested with self proclaimed pro MLG wannabes who constantly insult you if you like Reach and don't have a KD above 1.5, the people who think the game should only be about competetiveness and trueskill, the people who insult you and accuse you of trolling if you have an opinion that they don't share, the people who tell you to kill yourself if you don't like the Title Update, the people who are so arrogant they think that being good at a video game gives them the right to insult and look down on everyone else on the Internet.

Glad these people are only in the Reach forum for now
Have your opinions. Just don't expect them to have any merit in discussions about Halo and don't get angry when we tell you your opinion is worthless.

And look where we are, a HALO forum.

If you don't like it, get better or leave.

"K/D ratio is garbage. I play to win."

Morons who claim anything under a 2.0 means you are trash...which anyone with a brain knows that if you have a KDR that high, you're in the top 5% or less. Try hards are just dbags and I wish they all got hit by cars.

everyone hardcore abused armor lock and various other things

i see no problem with AL. if people stopped abusing the power weapons like they were the standard AR or DMR, then you wouldnt have that problem would you?

that is 1 thing i always found stupid about the majority of the community. their hatred for AL. and the reason its stupid is because most people who hate AL immediately go for the power weapons and use them the entire match as if it were their standard weapon. then they get mad when someone constantly uses the only REAL defense there is against said weapons. sorry, but if you think im just going to sit there and let you kill me all game with a power weapon, you are very sorely mistaken.

like i said, to avoid the "problem" with AL, stop abusing the power weapons so much.

You clearly have no idea how power weapons work. They're there for anyone to use. First to get them should do work with them. It's YOUR fault you didn't get to it first, not theirs. AL rewards the person who should be punished and punishes the person who should be rewarded.

How the hell do you "abuse" a power weapon anyhow?

you are under the assumption that i dont like power weapons cuz i cant get to them. well, you are wrong. i dont use power weapons unless i run out of ammo for my original weapon.

wow, talk about close mindedness. so you think that people who use the only REAL defense against d-bags with your kind of thinking is a punishment to those who can only win with map control and not actual skill?

by saying "abusing power weapons" i mean that it is the only weapon that the other team uses the entire match. and even sometimes camp with said weapon. which i have had the misfortune of playing against A LOT of those a-holes

Power weapons are a reward for your team securing map control. It is the end result of one team out playing the other team, which requires both skill and teamwork. I don't see anything wrong with this, but what I do see is the guy whose team got obliterated pressing RB and having a chance to reverse the flow of the game by using no skill and absolutely no teamwork.

How is using a skill-less mechanic to offset rewards gained by actual skill and teamwork "good"?

that is absolute BS. as soon as the match starts, EVERYONE dashes to the power weapons. how the hell is that skill? that is more along the lines of being pathetic than anything. so the only way to have map control is by using the power weapons? whatever happened to using real skill instead of relying on a powerful weapon to do the work for you?

and i see nothing wrong with someone using AL against people who dont know how to use anything besides power weapons. AL is the only REAL counter to this BS mentality most of you have.

and i love hearing people cry in the post game lobby. complaining how i beat them cuz their power weapon couldnt get their easy kills for them since i used an AA that actually works effectively against said weapons.

a skill-less mechanic? if you say that about AL then you have to say that about ALL the AA since none of them take skill to use like the power weapons.

I would much rather talk to friends even while we played different games much more than I would to other players I am playing with or against in a game. If the majority of users had something pleasant to say I might make idle conversation, but instead I am attacked with hostilities of things like skill, my mother, etc.

But it isn't just the Halo Community that has gotten worse, it is the majority of the online gaming community in my opinion.
I agree. It appears that in any online game, my competitors and even teammates are making fun of me, "trolling," or just being annoying. I am often forced to mute everybody or start a Party if I just want a quiet game. I don't like doing this, however, because I loose the sense of being a team, which usually makes the game more enjoyable.

Reach killed talking.
I think the introduction of the Xbox LIVE Party chat killed in-game talking. But then again, the online community in general has become hard to tolerate.

I would argue that it's console gaming which suffers the most from this, due to it being more accessible to younger audiences.

i will take that a step further. i blame the parents. cuz parents nowadays dont care what their child does on live or the console, just as long as it keeps the little tykes busy and not bothering them.

but what REALLY irks me, is how these same parents (the ones who dont care at first) can think they have the right to complain about the XBL community and how offensive a lot of them are when these parents are the same ones that gave their children ACCESS to it. then they try to blame everything on the community when its their own dumbass fault for getting their kid Live in the first place.

here is a tip for parents, either get the kid the console WITHOUT Live or when you get the console put the settings to friends only and put a lock on the settings so that way, they cant talk to or hear anyone else or anything that might taint their fragile little ears......just a thought.

Spoiled gamers that are accustomed to receiving and demanding their right to play a game that is made specifically for them alone, while at the same time, expecting all others to enjoy it as much as them or to -blam!- off have entered the fray.

That overwhelming feeling are their promiscuous little -blam!- bumping on the backside of game developers telling them what to do rather than letting them do their jobs and develop their games!

True, but halo has always been more of a game where people talked trash. Because it is more about skill than most others. Halo 2 and 3 were games where after owning or getting owned people talked trash. Because in these games you can clearly see if your better or not. And if the other guy disagrees you go into customs and prove it. None of that ever happens in cod or battlefield.

B.net, and Halo in general, has always had a terrible community. There's drama everywhere, and people just love to be dicks.

i have to disagree with you there. that happens all the time in COD. i used to be a hardcore COD fan back when it was actually good. and i can tell you that now, anytime someone talks trash to someone else, they go into a private match and do exactly what you said. then again, its not like Halo where it takes actual skill cuz the weapons and COD overall is easy, but the point still applies.

The MLG/competitive gamers community kinda tried to take control over the game. When Reach came out they were mad because the game wasn't catered toward them, pretty much.

Holy -blam!- you're retarded.

EDIT: This thread is infested with mad retards wanabe MLG haters.
I don't know if this is sad or just bloody hilarious.
