Reach killed talking.I think the introduction of the Xbox LIVE Party chat killed in-game talking. But then again, the online community in general has become hard to tolerate.
I would much rather talk to friends even while we played different games much more than I would to other players I am playing with or against in a game. If the majority of users had something pleasant to say I might make idle conversation, but instead I am attacked with hostilities of things like skill, my mother, etc.
But it isn't just the Halo Community that has gotten worse, it is the majority of the online gaming community in my opinion.
I would argue that it's console gaming which suffers the most from this, due to it being more accessible to younger audiences.
i will take that a step further. i blame the parents. cuz parents nowadays dont care what their child does on live or the console, just as long as it keeps the little tykes busy and not bothering them.
but what REALLY irks me, is how these same parents (the ones who dont care at first) can think they have the right to complain about the XBL community and how offensive a lot of them are when these parents are the same ones that gave their children ACCESS to it. then they try to blame everything on the community when its their own dumbass fault for getting their kid Live in the first place.
here is a tip for parents, either get the kid the console WITHOUT Live or when you get the console put the settings to friends only and put a lock on the settings so that way, they cant talk to or hear anyone else or anything that might taint their fragile little ears......just a thought.
