Subject: Why do I get a Rejection Medal from grenades even with full shields?

I thought grenades weren't supposed to be able to kill you with full shields. So why am I getting the medal from surviving ONE grenade, even though I can clearly see I had full shields while in Armor Lock? Did they make grenades more powerful?

Life is a journey, if you spend all of it with your nose in your map, you may miss some of the best parts.

I don't understand.

Okay, I'll break it down:
1. Someone throws a grenade at me.
2. I go into armor lock.
3. I can clearly see that I have full shields.
4. The grenade explodes.
5. I get the rejection medal.

Since you should only get the rejection medal from surviving something that would have otherwise killed you, that means that I WOULD have died from the grenade, even though I was at full shields.

This contradicts Bungie's statement where they claimed that grenades shouldn't kill you if you had full shields.

It just says when you take massive damage. Everything but bullets count as massive damage, I think.

Nope, the actual description of the medal says that you get the medal after surviving something that would have otherwise killed you.

When I play to win I voice message people call outs.

Does it really matter, it's just an insignificant medal.

It has nothing to do with the medal. I just see it as possible proof that frag grenades CAN kill you at full shields, even though Bungie claims that they can't.

They can if you don't have full health.

I had full health and shields.

All it is is bungie messing up. Take for example the extermination medal.

1. I kill the whole team and get the extermination
2. Someone respawns and I kill him, I'll get the extermination medal again even though I didn't meet the criteria.

Well, if Bungie is messing up with medals, there's a significant possibility that they are messing up certain game mechanics.

Massive Damage= Any explosion that could pop a shield in Bungie's definition.

Yes lets compare messing up minor description details on a medal to core game mechanics.

Opinions are like butholes. Everyone's got one, nobody wants to hear about it.

The real problem is that you're using Armor Lock.

New Zealand is pretty much the best place in the world.

I don't know, I've heard plenty of people complain about dying at full health and shields from one grenade.

The Rejection medal isn't about surviving "massage damage", it's supposed to appear whenever you survive something that would have otherwise killed you if you hadn't gone into armor lock.

Why even bother, really?

Ohai, I'm Loscocco (pronounced Loss-cocoa). I'm a college student (computer science major), 3D animator, and long-time Halo player.

Stop taking it so literally. A killionare says that you must "kill 10 opponents in the blink of an eye." That doesn't mean you literally need to kill them before you blink.

Well, "blink of an eye" is a commonly known expression.

However, "Armor Lock and survive damage that would be fatal. " was probably meant to be interpreted literally within the context of the game.

The Rejection medal either has a bug, or a grenade really CAN kill you at full shields(not sure if it's a bug or not, the game was lagging for everybody in that particular match, and that might have had something to do with it).

Either way, Bungie said a grenade isn't supposed to kill you at full shields, which is why I'm wondering why I got the medal.

~ Videogames are my favorite videogames ~

If you really think that grenades can kill you in one hit, what's stopping you from throwing a grenade at your feet and testing yourself?

Either way, does it matter if you get the Rejection medal for blocking something that will really really hurt you, fatal or not?

Aren't grenades that you throw yourself less lethal to you than the ones the enemy throws at you? I know for sure the grenades your teammates throw don't hurt you as much as the enemies grenades, and I think that the same rule MIGHT apply to grenades you throw yourself.

People fake a lot of human interactions....but I feel as tho I fake them all......and I fake them very well...and thats my burden....I guess

I get killed with full health and full sheilds all the time by grenades

Hell I've had cases where the grenade lands 20 ft behind me and still kills me with full health and sheilds (although in that situation its probably more of a lag thing)
