Now listen to me for a moment...

Did anyone noticed that the physics of the warthog in H1 were different from those of H2???
look at it... in H1 the jeep seemed much more "jumpy" and the bounces felt much more like "fluid"...
In H2 the warthog had much more "coarse" or "rough" physics.. if you analize it, the jeep in H2 bounced less and MUCH more roughly and less realisticaly... I dont know... mayber its just me... but give it a try and tell me what you think
I personnaly want the H1 Warthog physics back for H3...

I coulda sworn I heard this before... oh yes, I have... and no, the physics wil be redisgned from the ground up for Halo 3. Use your brain. With 3 proccesor cores to work with, physics will be amazing. Lets not nitpick at the details and pray it's still FUN to drive.

No, it is definitely not just you. In Halo 1, the warthog fishtailed like crazy. But in Halo 2, it is much more controllable.

That's because in Halo 1 Bungie tried to create their own physics engine. Which we all know made for great warthog launches. Although to make a better engine bungie had Havok and company that specializes in physics engines make one for them. Thus the more fluid movement of the Halo 2 physics.

The physics are a lot different. But much more realistic in Halo 2 by far. In Halo 1 the smallest jump you send you meters into the air, when you hit into a wall you could turn and scrape by without backing up, and it slid soooo far on any surface.

They used a different game engine in H2 than H1. It seemed more realistic and such, but I liked the first one better though.

I wouldnt want it exactly the same, but i love how u were able to go flying in them.

we played a game in H1 called "wookie" (inside joke) in blood gulch and we basically got into Hogs in race (4 hogs, 4 people) and went around the blue base in opposite directions, having head on collisions. Its so funny. Ur allowed to run over people that aren't in hogs... its a great gametype for fun. one time my friend got launched into the little sniper rock on the wall of BG.

so yea... i'd like the H3 hog physics to resemble H1 more than H2. but whatever bungie does, i'm sure it will be awesome.

Well i didnt like it in Halo 1 as much. Halo 1 was more for fun factor, which is why it makes huge jumps off small ramps and such. Halo 2 went for more realism and story rather than gameplay it seems.

but why are people saying H1 physics were better than H2?
H1 you slid all over the damn place and had no controll. it felt like you were driving on the moon. not only for warthogs but for thethe tank as well. everything felt like driving on an ice rink on the moon. That and Master chief jumped about as high as a muscle spasm in a toe.((as in not high at all))
H2 physics were way better. everything acted appropriately to the standard gravity. of course it will feel rough. have you ever taken a jump in a car? its hella rough.
My vote is close to earth physics as you can get. the more real, the better

I believe that's because some bungie staff who designed the system left and took the Halo 1 physics with them, which is why much of Stubbs The Zombie has similar physics to Halo 1.

I grew up.

Halo 1 had what I call "Sponge(sp?)" Physics. Basically everything, including you and the items you interact with had a bounce to them. Remember in H1 how you could be blown 20 million feet away, or with the ghost ram yourself on the side of bloodbulch and be boosted to the top of the map? Also how all the weapons seemed to fly miles and miles bouncing off every single surface possible. Kind of spongy and springy. Halo 2 had a wayyyyyyy better feel to it.

Halo 1 physics were more fun, IMO. Heck with realism, I liked watching things fly all over the place! Anyway, even if Bungie goes for a more realistic feel for halo 3, I really hope you can blow guns around, even if it's not as much as halo 1, I hope they can still go fairly far. Maybe something like being able to blow the sniper on Beaver Creek down from it's spot to the middle of the sides of one of the bases. H2's 1/2ft movement sucks.

I Hated the H1 Hog! It SUCKS! It Fet like there was grease on the tires and slided WAY TOO MUCH!! H2 HOG RULES!!!

Both have advantages. You could slide into another player easier with the H1 warthog. H2 was more controlled, but there was vehicle damage.

In halo 3, I hope there's an option to turn off destructable vehicles.

but the warthog on halo 2 feels too light and cheap, while halo 1 feels realistic and heavy like it would be, i think everything on halo 2 feels really light...
