One shot: one kill, zero seconds to live

I think ICEMAN ASSASS1N made a good point about how chief can't save us all this time, but there is one way to survive the flood (other than activating the rings and/or shooting them all). In the book Halo: First Strike it tells that humans can become resistant to the flood, but only if they develop a condition called Boren's Syndrome. it causes a disruption in the nervous system and that prevents flood from taking over a host's body. However, this condition can only be developed if a person is exposed to high amounts of radiation exhibited by plasma based weaponary. EX. grenades, which means basically you have be next to one when it goes off or carrying a crate full of them for awhile. also there is only a small chance that you would survive even after developing the syndrome. (Sergant Johnson developed this syndrome and survived, that's why he's in H2)

Yeah but to do that they would have to risk every UNSC marine with extreme amounts of radiation and I dont think they have the number of soldiers to do that. Cause with alot of radiation you die. and the humans need all the help they can get.

Col Sanders 37- Would you like that original or extra crispy?

I hope you choke on my popcorn chicken!

Eat my crispy strips biotch!

But scientists should be able to find out how it affects the nerves and how they can tweak them to the point where they get the disease. In this case extreme radiation, they can find out the radiation paternsfrom plasma weapons and conserve it to use on human test subjects. But the thing is... Halo 1 and 2 happened in such a short time span that scientists wouldn't be able to figure it out fast enough.

there not hittin themselves with plasma grenades everyday, and for the few elites that get close to a plasma that blows up, those elites are probably not fighting anymore

Plasma grenades exhibit the most amount of radiation, and would probably be easier to get and use compared to plasma rifles or pistols, since the most direct way of recieving the radiation from them is being shot. Also, so far we've only seen humans have the ability to develop this condition. Hunters would be safe from infection only because their physical makeup is actually a giant colony of worms, making it very hard for a flood to take over them.

the only reason hunters don't get infected is because they have more than one creature living in them and the flood can't infect everyone of the organisms so they are unefected.

there is away to escape the flood other than activating the rings or with radiation just get a trusty shotgun and magnum with plenty of munitions and find an area were they can't ambush you and they have to come at you one at a time.

Johnson's condition is unique. There is a billion to one chance that ONI would be able to replicate his condition.

Look, there has so be SOME way other than killing off half the human population with radiation to avoid being taken by the flood... at least... let's hope so...

Brain Blast! The big thingy ma bob in the demo, looks like a power plant maybe it gives off tones of radition making it posible for the flood to not get to earth making the covernant want to steal to *takes breath* keep the flood away from them so they cant die and then they send all the humans captive on a spaceship to there planet to get the flood to wipe us out but the master cheif is disquised and they take over the covernant planet because in the trailor it said "this is how the 'WORLD' ends" Not the universe! so they probally do that!

All we know is that the Elite hugged him and grabbed his ass. That doesn't qualify on saving him.
