I loved Halsey's character, and I don't understand why Traviss had to go and make Halsey seem like the ultimate villain in the halo universe. You really could tell through the way she wrote the ODST's lines how SHE really felt about Halsey. I hope not too much in Halo 4 is based off of Glasslands.
If you can explain what Traviss changed about Halsey as a character, rather than merely presenting a perspective of Halsey's actions that weren't her own (Halsey's thoughts on her own actions, that is), or that of a Spartan-II, I'd greatly appreciate it.

In glasslands, it's all about perspective. Nearly every character we got to hear from came across as utterly hating Halsey (Even Mendez, which is utter bull-blam!-.)

Dounut didn't say Traviss changed Halsey as a character, he said she made everybody see Halsey as an evil mad scientist with no care for her actions.
You don't think that's at all realistic?

Stupid ass washing machine...

Personally I always found Halsey's character to be rather annoying and sometimes even petty. I appreciated the depth her character was given both in Nylund' and Traviss' books as some sort of all-questioning woman who used the wonders of the universe around her to distract from her own self-interrogation, but at the same time I was often peeved at her interference in missions and general manner, so I was not upset by the events of Glasslands at all as I could empathise with ONI due to my own attitude towards her.

Not really. Lets compare something shall we? The ODST Vaz knew about the S-IIs and S-IIIs. He knew the S-IIs were made to stop the insurrection and the S-IIIs were teenage suicide soldiers to SLOW the Covenant.

He knows of Halsey's involvement in one and Mendez's involvement in both. Yet he tries to murder Halsey and merely gives Mendez a passing attack on his masculinity.

That's realistic?
