Subject: Should Halo: Reach be more like the book, The Fall Of Reach

Halo Reach, as we all know was a good game, not fantastic, but good.
In this post i'll be talking about the campaign, not the online.
I think the campaign should have revolved around the Master Chief. If anyone here has taken the time to read the book, Halo: the fall of reach by eric nylund, they would know that in the concluding chapters of the novel, the master chief, along with fellow spartans James and Linda fought on the front lines of reach protecting it until the end. Now, they could have easily made a great TEAM campaign WITH master chief and other spartans, but instead, bungie decided to all of a sudden invent a whole new brand of spartan, the Spartan III's. They're are many dogfights that take place in space, in the book that would have been a good equivalent to the level, "the long night of solace", in Halo: Reach.

Picture this, the campaign starts about midway through the novel, where Master Chief is first paired up with Cortana, and is forced through a obstacle course to test his Mk. V armour, the same he wore in Halo: Combat Evolved. This would explain how he came to know Cortana, it would integrate Dr. Catherine Halsey, like in the game, and would explain the armour.

As the campaign continues, the covenant become more and more powerful. Another good option could have been to let the player play through other characters, for instance, play as Linda, the sniper, or MAYBE through the eyes of a marine, using a MAC gun to fight off covenant seraphs in space.

These are just a few ideas that i think could have been used by bungie to create a very similar experience to Halo: Reach, with a storyline that fit right in with what the hardcore Halo fans, such as myself already know to be and awesome storyline. As for the newcomers to the game, it would have set them up in a more exact manner for Halo 1,2,3.

This, again, is PURE speculation, please comment
