Why don't we have a system which automatically marks threads we haven't read yet or (a different mark for) threads we haven't checked since the most recent post?

The marks don't have to be large or eye catching; just clear enough to take note of while scrolling through the forums.

I like the concept but I don't think that would work to well here. You just finished reading a thread only to find it "unchecked" because some posted in since you read it.

I am never late,Nor am I early; I arrive precisely when I mean to.
Also
"I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick -Potatoes!-... and I'm all out of bubblegum."

Check out this Thread on how to help new members here on Bungie.net

Yeah I could see that being helpful even though I tend to remember the threads or post I've been into.

And like the other Guy said it would probably almost always be marked as not read due to someone posting right after you, but still you never know.

Also known as the Keeper of Time and Space itself.
Simply as, The Face of Boe.

I sort-off agree.

That's actually not a bad idea. Maybe a bit pointless for unread posts, but it could be quite useful for threads.

Isn't that the point?

The mark doesn't have to stand out, and there should be a different mark for unread threads and ones that have been unchecked since the latest reply.

If you feel like you don't want to read a new post, you don't have to; and the mark will be correctly saying that you haven't read the most recent post.

that is entirely the point.

So the quality of your Bungie.net experience will be horrific because some topics have a little mark to tell you that you haven't read the most recent post yet?

Either way, that's not the only subject of this thread. What of the unread thread mark? Do you have anything to say about that?

I have a better idea; notifications as far as the eye can see!

Not a bad idea by any means but the beauty of bungie.net is its simplicity. No need for too many unnecessary features.

Yeah, it isn't necessary; but, as I've recently found out, it would prove useful for topics you've completely missed or ignored on accident.

Yeah, of course you can argue it isn't necessary; but, as I've recently found out, it would prove useful for topics you've completely missed or ignored on accident.
It would be cool if we could enable/disable it in settings so everyone can be happy.

That, or we could give it a trial run to see how good or bad it would really be.
