It is volunteer work.

Pretty much this

If I volunteer for something, but never show up, then I would get taken off their list of volunteers.

This is b.net, not your local animal shelter.

In case you haven't noticed, we do things differently here

I was pointing out that just because something is volunteer work dosen't mean that you don't have to show up.

The fact that moderating is volunteer work dosen't have anything to do with why inactive mods are still mods.

I'm not sure how to word this.

I don't like how a person with more power than me does less work than me.

I'm not sure how you'll feel when you go out the door into the real world, then.

In what way are you doing more work than them? Clicking on threads and lurking? That makes sense.

Not to be rude, or anything, but I'm pretty sure he was just asking a question.

What exactly is the problem here? Do you think they're taking up "space"? Like they're preventing us from appointing a new moderator?

I'm sorry, but of all the things people in this forum like to post about, this is by far the most stupid. Even worrying about your user titles (that don't mean anything) is a more productive use of your time than this topic.

They're....well, inactive. There's only 3 listed on Bungiepedia. So...why do they still have a moderator status when they are inactive?

Even worrying about your user titles (that don't mean anything)
Are you honestly saying user titles are unimportant? I'm sorry, but of all the things that are unimportant, this is by far the most important.

"Work"? Posting is "work"?

If posting was a criterion for becoming a Moderator, this post would make sense. But it is not and if it is, it is probably one of the most liberally applied criterion of them all when going through and picking new mods.

Moderators are chosen because of their perceived ability to act somewhat maturely, speak English competently, and moderate the forums. Not because they post a lot.

Even if that were true, multiplying anything by zero is still zero.

In case you missed it, I'll refer you to my post up there^, as even with your reassertion of your indecision on how to express your feelings on the matter, it's still applicable.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but haven't you said that people shouldn't apply emotional context to your posts?

Why are you assuming that OP is "worrying" rather than just asking a question? Where did he indicate that he is worried?

-Macbeth (Act I, Scene V).

I think some of the moderators prefer to lurk, rather than post.

In this forum at least, there is rarely a topic that is unknown or new. Most of them have seen the threads before and discussed them, and have nothing to add.

So...What you're saying is....

We should make more topics about our titles?!

I kid I kid...But seriously, I said this in the last thread like this (the one from yesterday), you have no information stating that only that many are active, and thus you are just blowing smoke out your ass.... You really should stop doing that.

Lurking is necessary to not go insane from time to time. Think about the nonsense posted on this site on the daily then think about having to cipher through it all. I'm sure it takes its toll for the volunteers who moderate these forums.

I think of it as multiplying by one. Member titles x 1 = member titles.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

The webteam knows what they are doing, lets mot worry about who gets a special title bar. :3
