Then don't join groups that are made by people who don't know how to set them up. Most have standard rules, and most of the time the mods or admins would let you off of the hook for breaking minor rules. Apparently they didn't let him off of the hook because they don't know how to control members.

I'm not going to follow your workaround just to support your answer. There is no "standard" way to make a group. Groups are arranged in whatever way the founder wants to arrange them. They are tailored to any desired purpose, and the rules and atmosphere follow suit. To say that other groups "don't count" is a strange assertion, but is a trivial one anyway, since the OP didn't create that limitation when making the thread

You're a mod, you should be used to that.

True, we should let him speak for himself. I just think banning members is a stupid way to go unless you can afford to ban them; not the case for most groups..

Yes, I AM just that awesome.

I wonder why I banned myself again.

I agree. I do think that goes both ways though. It makes group admins less likely to ban their members, but it also makes group members less afraid of being banned. That's why I'd wager that the most common group ban is a 3-day ban.

Yes Costco. I need a 50lb bag...I mean sack of sugar.

Post something bad about Sapphire. Easy way to get banned from that group. Even though it's one of the largest here, it seems to be one of the most pointless groups.

In general, you can't get lifted from a permaban list in a private group without the admin of the group doing it.

I have never been banned from a private group, but I suppose I'd just post in others or on the mains.

Well, my group back in the day gave incentive not to be banned because it was interesting and well ran. So , in the end it really is up to the mods/admins (in my case I had a staff and a council on top of that) to keep the group running well and members will not "rebel".

In the 2(almost 3) years that I have been here, I have not posted on a private group's forum.

If you get banned from a group, I'm pretty sure you'll live on the mains.

I try to steer clear of bans everywhere, but I have been banned in good fun on a private group or two. Removed quickly though, private group bans are odd to me.

  • 04.12.2012 7:00 PM PDT

... Leave?

Unless it's a joke between friends, most of the time I've found getting banned in a private group means there's a problem with the moderator rather than me. Does that sound arrogant? Well maybe it is. But in this case, I also believe it to be completely true.

  • 04.12.2012 7:02 PM PDT

The only time I get banned is usually in DO NOT JOIN THIS GROUP when I post in lower case.

I lol'd at the absurd miscommunication that occurs whenever dibbs post something. Perhaps his brain is so highly evolved that he can no longer clearly communicate with lesser life forms, even among his own species.

What objective criteria!

It's a metaphor for the 07s' lack of identity. too old to be newfag, yet too new to be oldfag, we wander b.net in search of a home, forever trying to be something we are not.

I've never been banned from a group...

Lol quite the ridiculous concern.

I wouldn't know - I don't intend on knowing.

I've only been banned once from a group. I didn't care.

How do you get banned from a private group?

I rarely ever banned people in my group back in the day, trust me I know more about groups than probably 99.9% of the people on Bungie.net . I don't get how you can get kicked/banned from a group unless you tried to overthrow the group, constantly acted stupid, or constantly broke rules.

Obviously has never joined Sapphire

Citizens of Me! The cruelty of the old Pharaoh is a thing of the past. Let a whole new wave of cruelty wash over this lazy land.

Hear the word of Pharaoh. Build unto me a statue of ridiculous proportion. One billion cubits in height......that I might be remembered for all eternity!

And be quick about it!

Not really care, it doesn't affect my title

If I get banned from a private group, I'll simply just wait it out. It's not like I'm restricted from posting in the mains. So it wouldn't bother me. Plus there is only like 2 groups I'm active in.

  • 04.12.2012 7:42 PM PDT

Who the hell do you think I am?

Never been banned from a private group. But it seems like an obvious answer would be to post elsewhere for the duration of the ban.

Is that a question?

It was a group for Halo 3 screenshots and it had flood like aspects to it.
