I read somewhere that the "reason" there isn't co-op for Halo PC is that it was to complicated. I think thats bunk, other games have done it and it would be amazing to play co-op online with people around the world. Halo PC allows you to have 16 person fragfests on pretty huge maps but it doesn't allow for a 2 person game in campaign? So what I want to know is, WHY didn't they put co-op in the game, if not over the internet than over a LAN connection?

edit:
I thought LAN connections were much, much faster than internet. Also, why is gearbox's netcode messed up? Is there any chance they could fix it?

1: Lag and latency leading to unplayable situations in singleplayer - can you imagine trying to lead with the pistol vs elites?

2: Lan connection has the same connection gameplay as over the internet. Therefore see 1.

either they did not think about it, they actualy told the truth, or they cared about us about as much back then as they do know.

In multiplayer, even on 1 on 1 servers, you still have to lead your shots, due to Gearbox's screwed up netcode. An online co-op will be exactly the same. And besides most maps in Halo campain are pretty dang huge (for ex: Silet Cartographer, Assault on the Control Room, Two Betrayals, etc.). Just as someone had said two posts above me, leading your shots on a FREAKIN' elite, or hell, even a GRUNT, will kill the fun. Well, that's what I think. maybe there are other reasons why online co-op wasn't built in to HaloPC, but they all have their reasons.

Imagine trying that with a hunter.

Oh man...if you miss the shot...get ready to be bombarded with green mortars, or be pummeled by a huge unknown alloid shield...man, I don't even want to think about missing a pistol shot to a Hunter, let alone the fact that there's always TWO Hunters in a Hunter-patrolled area...

if GEARBOX had mad a half decent netcode, i dont for see why co-op would have been a problem, hell look at Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory.

Exactly, well said OmniosSpartan.

*looks angryly at Gearbox*

What...?

Hunters are push overs. It's just too easy to side-step their melee, and shoot their giant, orange fleshy mass and take them down in one shot with the pistol.

Co-op can't be possible because lag would ruin the experience.
