Subject: Mute the Opposing Team's Voices

It's just a game folks.

In Halo 3, I think the opposing team's voices should be muted. For instance, If I were on the blue team (Caboose), then I could only talk and hear to people on the blue team. This would make detection harder for the opposing team, but it would also eliminate the animosity of people screaming and yelling when they kill you. Who enjoys listening to "Oh, you just got owned" or "STFU, you suck" everytime you die. That is what ruins the game for people.

I mean, everyone lets the occasional swear-word fly, thats normal. But if each team didn't have to hear the blatant stupidity after every kiil, I think that would make for a much friendlier gaming environment. It works great in GRAW. I've been inclined to play that game more than HALO these days because you can't hear the other team yell , scream, curse, etc. when they kill you. When you get to the post-game lobby, everyone is much friendlier and calm about the game. Thats whats needed in Halo.

Just something to think about.....

Keep crying.

98% of teenagers drink or have done drugs. Put this in your profile if you like bagels.

You can mute people during the game. To be blunt, if you don't like to hear the other team then mute them.

that takes away a sense of realism, I love when you know somone was just around you or you saw their dot on radar and it just dissappeared, which meens their crouching. Then you here them breathing in their mic so you go hide in a corner until you see them crouch walking past you.

Those are the best moments.

You have got to be kidding me. Keep crying. Thats a response I would expect from a 12 year old. Grow up. And as for the muting a player option, if they had an option to mute the entire team with one click, I would be ALL FOR THAT. So the responses thus far indicate that people are happy with the idiocy expressed by most people in Halo. That is a bit disconcerting.

Don't get me wrong, I like the realism as well, but at the expense of civility?

I would like it if you couldn't hear the other team at all. I know it takes away some realism, but, imo the benefits outway the costs. If someone knows that their opponents can't hear them, they wouldn't bother trash talking and the postgame lobby would probly be friendlier since there won't be any ongoing arguments carried over from the game.

Nice idea, the other team is as annoying as me. But i think you should be able to switch it on and off

Exactly, and the gaming environment would be much friendlier. And, as you stated, future games with those individuals will not be despised. I also think that it would deter a lot of people from quitting games during the middle of gameplay. In my experience, I, and the people I play with, will usually quit a game when people are doing nothing but talking nonsense, swearing, etc. If we didn't have to listen to them, there would be no reason to leave (obviously a lot of people leave because they simply do not like the gametype, but i'm just referring to those that leave due to ignorance on the part of the opposing team).

And I also think that it would be a nice option to either turn it on or off. Good call there A_J.

I agree with bored, not about the whining and 12 year old remark, but about with one click you could make the game that much more enjoyable.
