"Oh you -blam!- camping whore!"
"It's a legitimate strategyyyyyyy!"

Um Chicago is where they started....they are in Seattle now though...but anyway would be interesting...would piss off NYC I bet since they for once didnt get the attention, which I would love to see happen....

Just want to add my two cents. Bungie was founded in Chicago hence Chicago is where bungies foundations are. They then moved to Seattle when bought by Microsoft making the building which is the foundations of bungie decommitioned from be a videogame companies building.

So I say that Bungie was just paying homage to the city where it was founded with the map Foundations. I mean just look at the name. To me it's obvious....but then again i may be wrong it may signify that Halo 3 will have Chicago in it I just don't know.

Well anyway that was my two cents have fun with them they were hard to get...

^Agreed to the fullest. I think if i were in Bungies shoes, i'd really like to include my "foundation" in the Halo 3. Seriously though, we will find out eventually. You people are so speculatory. Cheers

it's decommisioned as in no longer used for its orginal pupose, but u have this big facility, with all these machines and weapons studies.... and it could be where they ahve some top secret things that M.C. might pick up.... but it's just a theory.

That is what I was trying to get at earier, but no one caught on.

This would be the first time NYC was not the big city that everything takes place in.

Two last thing before this thread is forever gone.

One, just because its an international game doesn't mean they arent allowed to put an American city in the game. Be a little patriotic, we need America in Halo! And you dont have to play only in our contry, we played in Africa in H2, which is very un bias.

Two, someone post a hi-res digital photo of the symbol on foundation. We want to see.

I wonder what the structure of Chicago would look like in 2555.

The description of the map reads,
"Deep in Chicago Industrial Zone 08 lies the decommissioned Tactical
Autonomous Robotic Defense System testing facility."

Hmm, Tactical Autonomous Robotic Defense System? TARDS? Haha.

I think this is a good theory, but it is wrong, in my opinion. Why? Because of the fact that you thought foundation was unlocked when you complete the game. Now i dont know if this is true, but i unlocked it by going onto xbox live. Which i think means it is just a map for halo 2. Ive read alot of things like this and they are always B*****ks, like the picture that was found in h2 campaign that was supposedly a secret picture of a new h2 map.

Your dumb.....:P

A halo 3 symbol is in it which even on Hi-Def people think it looks like it. Also, I think the fact its unlockable to me makes it more possible. If it is unlockable, it is a reward. IF it is a reward, it has something in it that will be cool. So maybe it is an easter egg in it self. Foundation is only for H2, your right, but it is a hint, an easter egg for their NEXT game. Someone get a hi-res digital photo of the symbol in Hi-Def!!

"Tactical Autonomous Robotic Defense System" come on T.A.R.D.S. now thats funnyPosted by: Merc Beatnik
I think the beginning of Halo 3 will take place in Chicago, then later
go back to New Mombasa. The ship that Master Chief is on will crash land into there or something along those lines. My evidence to support my argument is the map Foundation, which you were supposed to get after you beat Campaign.

The description of the map reads,
"Deep in Chicago Industrial Zone 08 lies the decommissioned Tactical
Autonomous Robotic Defense System testing facility."

Maybe that has something to do with the plot of Halo 3, but to point of
the matter is that Chicago had nothing to do with Halo 2, unlike all of
the other maps before it, where you can tell which levels they come
from.

There is even more proof that Chicago will have something to do with
Halo 3. On Foundation there are Halo 3 icons hidden by where the rockets respawn. You can see then by standing where the sword spawns and looking right above the yellow and black paint in front of the rockets. Here is the link to the picture http://i4.tinypic.com/111l1xs.jgp
Edit: Thanks to FinishtheFight for finding this

Also, Chicago was where Bungie got their roots, and no one would blame them for wanting to incorporate their home into their games.

Some people just unlocked Foundation from Xbox Live because there was a glitch where certain people couldn't unlock the level by beating Campaign.

nice rounded theory, it makes sense, there is a MP level based on all the campaign levels and there are no levels in Chicago in H2, with the fact that someone said that Joe Staten said 3 levels were cut from the end of H2 then maybe Foundation is based on them, therefore maybe chicago in H3 but who knows.

other nice theory from this post is its just bungies homage to their "foundations" in chicago,

either could be true or neither,
we know what bungie are like.

Edit: In a recent video released by IGN, they speculated that the trailer of Halo 3 was around halfway through the game. So where be Master Chief be at the beginning of the game? Maybe in Chicago.

I agree with you on this one.

Yes, Thank you. I forgot the fact that they cut out 3 levels from Halo 2 Campaign, so maybe the level of Chicago was already planned out and ready to go.

I believe some of Halo 3 might be in Chicago, but its likely it wont be in the beginning. I think its because the covenant have really messed up Earth in the time that MC was gone. There would have to be a real important reason for him to be in chicago. Who's to say there wont be though.

HALO 3 IS HERE!!!!!!!!!!

if you look at the trailer you can see a mountain and speculation said that is mount Kilimanjaro. but that could be later in the game, so they could start off in Chicago but we will all to wait till 2007 to find out!!! so exciting.
