"This is the prototype Nova bomb, nine fusion warheads encased in lithium triteride armor. When detonated it compresses its fusionable material to neutron-star density, boosting the thermonuclear yield a hundredfold. I am Vice Admiral Danforth Whitcomb, temporarily in command of the UNSC military base Reach. To the Covenant uglies that might be listening, you have a few seconds to pray to your damned heathen gods. You all have a nice day in hell. "

I would love to see the Arbiter come back! I thought he was a great addition to the story. I know some one will murder me for saying this, but i liked some of the Arbiter missions better then the MC's.

The Arbiter is CRUCIAL to the storyline. There is no choice. Bungie will HAVE to include him

Even though there is little doubt he'll be in it, can't go from main character to backseat.

I voted yes.

I also envision that when you see him for the first time in Halo 3 it's with Johnson and Keyes asking him questions about him. I mean he looks radically different from any Elite they've seen and they must wonder what his role in the Covenant was.

Not necessarily, they could just pretend he died or something or pretend that he never existed, and everything would move along and come together just fine.

And then the story will make no sense...He is going to be in it, if your against it so much then dont buy it.

Oh, of course. I'm sure everyone would be thrilled to find out that Bungie coveniently left the Arbiter out of Halo 3, as if he never had anything to do with the story. We'd all be immensely pleased and I would most certainly buy 100 copies of Halo 3.

Not only do I want to see him in Halo 3, but it would be odd not to include him in the game after what happened at the end of Halo 2.

What are you talking about? Leaving him out completely would be a smart decision, since many people were opposed to the Arbiter in Halo 3.

You see, I'm not sure if trying to act ignorant on purpose, but you obviously have no grip on what it means to have a PLOT. The Arbiter must make an appearance. Bungie cannot simply leave out such an influentual character with an immense effect on the events of Halo 2 and the Halo storyline in general. You loose. BTW, CHECK THE DAMN POLL

THE STORY WOULD NOT MAKE SENSE IF HE JUST DISAPPEARED. Do you not understand that? It would ruin the story if all of a sudden you never heard from him again. AND most people who didnt like the Arbiter had no real reason other then "I dont like him".

It's amazing how people are still arguing the arbiter to be left out of the game or to be eliminated from the storyline all together seeing as what a role he played in the story. People are whining because they didn't like his levels so they want to ruin a perfectly good story, amazing.

I HATE when people use this as an excuse for bashing the Arbiter. Have him trade missions with the Chief and then would you be saying MC is a bad character? No, of course not. Just because the levels "were not fun" doesnt mean the character was bad, that means the level design was bad.

You are making no sense, my friend. Leaving the Arbiter out of Halo 3 would leave no gaps in the story and please many people. It's a no-brainer.

You're just -blam!- delusional.

Actually it would.......considering that the story now has two points of view instead of the usual one sided view..........so yes, it would leave gaps.........the story of Halo 2 proves it will.........

And if you notice.........most of the arbiters missions took place when the chief was incapacitated........for example, the first arbiter mission took place while chief was in slip space...............

The Arbiter has a contribution now.........he shows the fractioning of the covenant in first person.......his race to stop the prophets from dooming the collection of races has a significant meaning.............

That's why they should leave him out. It would help the story, and it would give the Master Chief no excuse to get owned and left out of the story. The Arbiter has no place in Halo 3, he should never have been created, and Bungie should fix that mistake by making no reference to him whatsoever in Halo 3.

WTF? Seriously here, I prefer plots with a little more substance than "this is Master Chief. Watch him blow things up! Why does he blow things up? We don't know, there are no other characters."

Leaving out the Arbiter at this point would be like making Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back and then leaving Darth Vader out of Return of the Jedi because no one liked him in the first two movies. At this point the Arbiter's defection from the Covenant cause is just as crucial to the story as Master Chief.
