Ok, I just realized something.
I've was playing Halo: CE last night, the level where you first meet the Flood. In the cutscene with Pvt. Jenkins recording, one of the Marines says "the Covenant went to a lot of trouble to lock this door" or something similar to that.
The Covenant accidentily released the Flood from Containment in Halo: CE. They realized their mistake and spent the rest of the game trying to mop up their mess, taking potshots at the MC as he goes by.
You'd think that after a mistake like that, they would have learned. So how did the Flood break containment on Delta Halo? Was it the Covenant again? Probably, so why did they not learn from Alpha Halo how to not release the Flood?

You know, that's an excellent point! uh-oh, do I smell a plot hole Bungie?

Not really...I mean, for all you know, they escaped on their own somehow.

I think the Flood are released on all the halos once released on one.

What makes you say that? As far as I know, the only common control element for the Halos is the Ark.

And I'm don't think the Flood could escape on their own: the Forerunners are obviously VERY adept at making secure facilities.

the covies didnt let the flood out the second time, ackerson did, at least that how the theory goes and for ther most part it appears to be true

for evidence to back this up, i will just say that there were already human flood inside the sheild when the arbiter shut it off and they couldnt have come from in amber clad because it just got there

why did he do it? was he jealous of Dr. Halsey?

He says "They went to a lot of trouble to lock this door" (roughly)

What does that sentence have to do with opening any doors?

And besides, it wasn't the Covenant that opened the flood gates. (haha)'
It was the Heretic colony.

Halo 3: Collapse
Chapter 20, Revelations, is up (update 11-14-10)
The Mirratord

Ω

There were human combat-forms loose in the quarantine zone before the containment shield was lowered, so the Covenant didn't release the Flood on Halo 05. However, by the same logic, the marines couldn't have been from In Amber Clad, since it was trapped outside the containment shield. There's something more going on here, and I think that the Ackerson theory is at least close to the truth.

Alright, too many flaws regarding all the stuff mentioned. So let's settle it.

Any moderator that reads this and has intimate knowledge of the game's development: How were the Flood released on Delta Halo, OR will we find out in H3 (doubt it).

Thanks.

Man the answer is right in front of you and you guys still make a topic about it play the level Sacred Icon the Stupid Arbiter (who also as the Covenant leader on Alpha Halo) shut down the Containtment shield in order to get the "Sacred Icon" or known to the Humans as simply "the Key"...there case close. The Humans wanted to get to the key to guard it from the Covies so thats why they were in the Containtment Area and would have succeded if it hadn't been for the Arbiter and those stupid talking gorillas

Dude, seriously. Do you truly think we're all so -blam!- STUPID that we didn't see that in the first place? It is, as you say, right in front of us. But consider this. MAYBE we found stuff that didn't exactly fit that scenario you just described. MAYBE WE -blam!- NOTICED STUFF YOU DIDN'T!!! Look at the goddamned posts everyone put here BEFORE you post your ideas!

I read it, and you're talking about the human flood as though that supported your idea.
If you'll read all the other posts on this thread, you'll realize that the Arbiter lowering the Containment Shield does NOT explain how the Flood were released. They were out and about BEFORE he lowered the shield.
You=every foul word known to man.

Seriously dude, think about it. The change from normal to Flood takes a long time. The Flood were out in force as soon as you powered down the shield, already fighting the Sentinels. Read what we've been saying. If you're not gonna read it, then you're gonna insist on being stupid about it, you're pretty dumb.

I can't believe I just flamed someone on my own damn thread.

Yeah and if you hear what Tartarus says on the level: "Many of my Brute have fallen trying to take out the shield"-Tartarus, which means one thing the Covenant was trying hard way before the Arbiter had arrived...yeah feel the burn baby!!!

Well, Swine, we aren't talking about that. That is after the Flood break containment. Read the other posts on this thread. Please.

(note to self: join Apple's team always, as he is a god)

I think they were inside the shield and when you let it down and go inside there they are.

Oh yeah and Akerson theory is way to out there to be true. Like come on you honestly think a colonel in the UNSC somehow knows about another halo and none of the admirals do? Plus you would have to be very very crazy, even more so than Akerson, to go to a halo to train spartans...

People say that the flood forms are there to quickly, well as much as I hate to admit it Halo is a game. They couldn't just have you fighting infectious forms the whole way that would get very boring.
