Maybe.

If he ever does, it'd be best in Halo 6, when it's over. But that's a maybe. After 10+ years of wondering, no one will be satisfied with what he really looks like. I think a back-of-the-head shot could work though.

In H4's case, one of the audio guys was saying that a Spartan dropping his chest plate should feel like an anvil dropping. Apparently, this actually happens, so we know John will be removing armor pieces to a degree, revealing he isn't a robot, but not all of it.

Tanned skin, probably slightly paled from being in the Mjolnir armour nearly all of the time, shaved black hair, maybe a few scars, one from his neural interface. Job done.

A full face shot would never work as was said, not everybody would be satisfied with what he actually does look like.

World Domination is not just a job, it's a hobby as well

He already has removed his helmet once before, in Halo 1... ;)

I doubt they'll show his face in Halo 4, 5, 6. If they didn't do it in 3, they won't do it now.

Remember though, it isn't Bungie making this Halo trilogy, it's 343i and so far, I'd say they've made some pretty big changes to the Halo we all know and love.

You know what I think ? I think if 343 decided that chief has a face it would ruin the iconic faceless master chief . Not to mention all the angry fan boys like me who would rage .

I LOVE HALO! Better than any other game.

But I love Halo 3 and Combat Evolved - never got the chance to play Halo 2 :(

If they ever do it will probably be in Halo 6. And like someone said before, a back of the head view will probably work best, that it shows that he's human but it still keeps him as the "faceless iconic figure" that we all know and love. Not that I would care, but the hardcore fanboys might. I mean honestly, even if they did show his face the majority of people would still think of Chief in his armour without a face. It's just what we have grown accustomed to, and what we will always see Chief as in our minds.

I hope not!

Unsuccessfully trying to bring science and reason to The Flood...

I hope they never reveal his face.

The fact that you don't know what he looks like adds a lot of mystery to his character. Which is valuable to any story they can tell.

Also, any face they come up with will disappoint a lot of people

I started up the heated debate on whether the SPARTAN-II in the cryo tube near the end of Reach is really Linda.
I created the Moa XING avatar pic.
Also I earned the All Star nameplate with this submission to Week 14 All Stars http://www.bungie.net/images/News/Inline11/bwu_0415/art/likea boss.jpg

He took off his helmet in Halo: CE XD
Now as far as 343i showing his face, that's a different question.

  • 04.15.2012 12:35 PM PDT

The day they take off his helmet my childhood will be ruined.

Love playing custom games?

Well come join Customs Evolved

We are group dedicated to playing custom games, map testing, game nights, etc. Anyone is welcomed to join, and we hope to have as much fun as possible!

I'll lol if 343i teases everyone by the end Halo 6 where the Chief takes his helmet off the same way he did at the end of Halo CE.

If they show his face I hope it'll be like Spiderman where Dr. Oc rips of Parker's mask.

"Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth."

-Marcus Aurelius

I think they will. In Halo CE the Chief was deliberately kept as vague as possible so that he could be a blank canvas for the player, he was literally a suit of armour only ever refered to by his rank. Over time his back story has been added to so that we now know his name, the circumstances of his training etc. Chief has gone from being an empty player avatar to a fully fleshed out character. Maybe he'll hand Cortana a badly photoshopped stock photo of himself...

Knowing 343 can do whatever they please scares the hell out of me. Just by reading the latest Game Informer article all of the changes in multiplayer have gotten me curious to how Halo 4 will turn out. If all of these changes are being made in the multiplayer who's to say they won't change the campaign and take away the heart throbbing, mind boggling story we've all loved.

If they show his face it should only be at the very end of Halo 6. Kind of a like a going away gift.

We should know better, because we are better.

I hope they don't. If they do, I agree with ROBERTO. A back-of-head shot would be best.

I used to eat Sammiches all the time, but that time is now over.
EON Sergeant
Spartan Special Ops Corporal

Not in Halo 4. Maybe his helmet gets knocked off in battle and we have a Reach scenario again, except the Chief doesn't die.

  • 04.15.2012 2:07 PM PDT

To take of his helmet would be like ripping his own face off.

It was stated somewere that Master Chief was very pale for spending most of his time in full body armor.

I hope not.
