Subject: wondering about the Spartan III that bungie cut out of HALO:reach.

-Dead Orbit..

I was wondering about a spartan III that would've became a member of noble team, but was cut while the game was nearing the end of its' development.

This person is the Spartan III commando: Rosenda-344. The only thing i know about her was that she is going to be Emile's replacement if he ends up in another Insurrection operation.

She was going to play a huge role in HALO:reach, but was cut and only mentioned in the Noble team performance reports.

her concept art:

helmet

face

SPartan III armor

i'm in the mood to maybe add a little more backstory and information to her.

any thoughts, opinions, or comments?

Maybe it's for the best. The file share would have been full of pictures of her ass as well as Kats and the forum full of "Kat Vs Rosenda: who would you bang" threads.

If you're passionate about the thing you're talking about, I'll always lend an ear.

I wish they cut all the S-IIIs out of Halo:Reach.

I don't think incuding her in the story really would have made much of an impact but it is interesting to see which spartans didn't "make the cut"

Citizens of Me! The cruelty of the old Pharaoh is a thing of the past. Let a whole new wave of cruelty wash over this lazy land.

Hear the word of Pharaoh. Build unto me a statue of ridiculous proportion. One billion cubits in height......that I might be remembered for all eternity!

And be quick about it!

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time.

I know who you are.

You are Destiny.

I didn't know they made cuts to the Nobel team.

Interesting stuff.

Hanger one I just shredded with the SMGs until ammo was out and I just threw 'nades like a boss while BRing.

My experience playing Cairo Station on Legendary

Agreed, Reach to me was a training base for Spartan II's. The III models were left to Onyx. Bungie sort of warped the universe to make the III's fit into Reach and this really bugged me.

There would have been even less development (if that means anything) and she'd be another corpse I don't give a single care about.

Just putting cool looking Spartans into a game isn't how to make a cast of good characters. Bungie seemed to think it did.

Are you saying that Bungie thought to think that by putting cool looking characters they become a good cast of characters.

It seems to me that they cut characters for that very reason, because they believed that cool looking characters dont make up a good cast. I feel that you are speaking nonsense with that statement.

I personally liked the character development. Noble 6 was brought in on short notice and therefore there was not time to develop characters.

The development fit the time that was given. He was there to replace a fallen comrade of theirs and would not be able to quickly develop bonds with them because he was hastily deployed and had his skills put to work immediately.

Noble Six was fine, he's just an avatar. The rest of Noble team were presented as if we'd already followed them through a few games and knew their stories intimately.

We didn't. We don't.

And that's fine by me. It gives them a much more real feeling personality, and the story a more real/ in the moment feeling to me than having a bunch of absurd exposition to try to give them all bios or some ridiculous introduction scene for each character. If I feel like I really need to know their lives prior to these events more intimately I can read the instruction manual and/or online bios and bonus content that Bungie had all over the site and the Reach site. The game let us know they were a tightly knit team that worked together for a while and just lost one of it's members, so they probably aren't going to be too keen on anyone coming in to replace their fallen team mate. That really tells me everything important that I need and there were enough subtle tells to their personality traits by what they did or didn't say throughout the game if I really wanted to imagine more about what they might be like as people(but they're Spartans, so, yeah, personality generally takes a back seat to duty even more than an average soldier so it wasn't something I thought too much about).

We had Kat vs Fem Six threads.

The amount of concept art only made me think "what Reach could've been". I wouldn't mind a 2011 release for Reach.

Tempted to make a machinima (a good one- as in cannon accurate) showing her onwhatever assignment she was on whilst noble team did 'their thing' so to say.

Agreed, they were never actually around until the first Installation blew up.

Not really.

There are already S-IIIs in the 2540s.
