Subject: If Bungie.net was not an internet website,

"There's daggers in men's smiles." - Donalbain, Macbeth, Act II, scene iii

and it was a part of, for lack of a better term, the 'real world', what do you think the Bungie.net community would look like? What would its physical representation be?

Personally, I see a large city that is under the control of the iron fist of Achronos. This city has multiple suburbs (private groups), and the law enforcement consists of 40 or more loose cannons that keep a close eye on everything that happens.

We miss you Logan.
Ask any question. I'll help with anything on site or off.

I'm not sure, but all I know is it wouldn't be as fun as it is now.

I can honestly see Urk and DeeJ spreading the bid and propaganda of Achronos everywhere.

As for the individual forums, I can see them being parts of the city. Something like this:

Community: People who either run the city, or are related and have associations with the people who run the city. City Hall is located here.

Classifieds: Employment center. This is where people go to work.

Flood: The run down part of the city. Most people stay clear of this part of the city as there is a lot of criminal activity.

Gallery: Cultural arts and music division of the city. This is where the theaters are at.

Universe: City square. Where all of the official events are held. This along with the classifieds is where the market is at.

Game Forums(3, Reach, etc.): Older population lives in these areas. Much older part of the city(even older than the Flood). Holds the historical center as well as the museums.

I think the Bungie.net community would be a large group of Civil War reenactors.

That's cute, but it's actually both.
Actually, I take that back, it's not even both. It is a website. It contains a community.

It is a website. It contains a community.

I think it's the other way around. The website can not exist without the community. We control it. :D

I mean, when I think of "Bungie.net", I think of the discussions and people, not so much the formatting or literal "www.Bungie.net". I just felt like saying something motivational for the day.

That's why I said it was cute...but it's not actually true.
The website certainly can exist without the community. It would sit here without any "Discuss" buttons and no forum dropdown, and it'd still be here. Would it be less awesome? Likely. But it'd still be here.

Conversely, if this website never existed, neither would this community. Perhaps a reasonable portion of it may have eventually found their way together offsite, but it wouldn't be the same community. We certainly don't control it. Some of the topics in this forum are more than a testament to that.

Bungie's in this community... I think it'd hold the basics.

I think we all control it, even if it might not seem that way at times; it flows to rhythm of the community, and that's jazz to me. Now I have to Take Five with Dave Brubeck...

Upon taking over the world, I believe Bungie would make great overlords and that their subjects would be most pleased.

I think we should go back to our roots and relaunch the official bungie.net bbs.
