Iceman Assassin stated his theory, that basically master chief HAS to activate Halo, but the Ark is on Earth, so they are all safe...and i agree BUT based on the trailer this is what i think
Master Chief didnt even look suprised or worried at the "mysterious object" when it fired. I think MC finally realized what needed to be done, and thats activating the "mysterious object",but the Elites, Grunts and whoever is sided with them found out what "the mysterious objects" true purpose is, and they went to try and stop it from activating, but when they arrive and find out its too late, they turn and try to escape the activation

feedback pls

How did he activate it if he was just walking towards it? And then why bring a gun?

did the object in the trailer look like it had an entrance? obviously activated from somewhere else, he ran into covenant resistance because they tried to stop him, then he walked to it to see that his deed was done

Had to be activated from somewhere else? Where did you attain this information? What you mean is you would make other stuff up to fit your theory.
He ran into resistance when they tried to stop him? That seems a little redundant.
And when I excrete faecal matter I don't look into the toilet bowl and make sure I did it.

Oh man pay no heed to me. I'm so mean. It is quite an interesting theory, just not too well thought out.
EDIT:: Can't... Do it... Can't ... be... nice... for ....much... longer....
Your theory is completely silly! Rofl.

ok listen
The object in the trialer, did it look like it had an entrance at that location? No. So im saying, like Halo, it has to be activated from another location. When Chief arrived at this location, the covenant were there trying to prevent the objects activation, hence the gun. Then Master Chief simply walked to the location to see that his work paid off. The covenant want to stop him because if the Ark is on Earth, and they learned the objects true purpose, then they are not safe, because they are not welcome on Earth. Any clearer?

How is this theory silly? If you can give me 3 things that are completely stupid, not thought out, and otherwise impossible, i will ask the mods to lock this thread myself. Iceman sees where im commin from, so i guess if u have a problem with the theory, i might suggest u look in a mirror

Really the Prophet of Truth was on the Forerunner ship. As the chief in the trailer was on earths surface the ship may have been destroyed and\or the Chief killed Truth.

The Elites seem like they would side with the humans with no Prophets to argue with and most of the covenant as they respect the elites more than the Brutes.

The scene in the trailor could be an elite commanded fleet working with the chief. (they don't be reacting in aggressivly to the chief)

Thats what im sayin, Now that the Elites found out the objects true purpose, they are tryin to stop it from activating because the only way to be saved from it is on the ark, and Whats left of the covenant are not welcome there

Three things wrong with your theory:
No Pirates
No Ninjas
No Monkeys

Without these three things, how can you expect anyone to take you seriously.

No. You forgot the most crucial element, the... [sorry for the trouble, but we are blocking this from view. Because we can.]... and that would make the most awesome theory ever!

Read about my gaming here.

If he activated it then, it'll destroy everything?

There is one tiny tiny itsy bitsy nano problem with the thing being activated and destroying all life in the galaxy, namely, it's that the trailer it roughly 1/3 in the game. Either there is a cutscene where mc gets to earth, and a little longer cutscene where all life is being blasted to peanut butter, that would make a hell of a game, wouldn't it?

Hmm, How did news of the civil war between the Covenant reach Earth? Is it possible that the Elites and Brutes are still fighting on the same side, and the Elites on Earth still have no idea of Halo's true purpose?

3 stupid things? ok.
1: the entrance could have been anywhere on that thing. you're seeing it from way too far out to judge.
2: halo was not activated from another location, it was activated in the control room! you're thinking of all the halos simultaneously by one person.
3: if the covenant were trying to prevent its activation why the hell did it open? surely the covies must have done something in order to open it, even if it was simply to excavate it.

there's your three stupid things.

Run? Kid, if it really was activating the Rings then he had to run around 400.000 lightyears before it fires, now the MC may not be the smartest guy on Earth but he understands that the chance is less then impossible.
