Subject: Why Halo Reach is a better developed game than CoD MW3

Think of me, as the brother to caboose, i may sound like him, but i was able to pass kindergarten before quitting school

Quite simply, It's all in the details. (cliche sounding much). Even so it is true. some of you may not appreciate it, but the fact that the small things in a game were scrutinized and worked on by the Halo Reach developers makes all the difference. If you just agree with me because your a halo fan, then i am sorry to say you do not see my point.

I play CoD, but dont worry, halo has always been first, and was and still is the game of the XBOX system. Anyways, the thing is, all the CoD have great realistic gameplay, but they (the developers of CoD ex. IW, SH, 3ARC) side step the small details, and yes they are small, but they are what turn a really good game into an exceptional game.

If your wanting some good examples, here are some:

In CoD MW3 you cannot see your legs - in Reach you can

In CoD MW3 there are no team separation spawn zones, Meaning you cant take a breath without another enemy attacking - in Reach there are maps with separation of team spawn zones, and only a couple super small maps

In CoD MW3 your health regenerates to normal, (this one is not so bad, but its unrealistic for a realistic made game)- in Reach you get wounded, you lose health, you regain only a little as you recover from the initial shock of being wounded, but you are still hurt, and you only heal if you get a med pac or use a bubble shield

In CoD MW3 if you die 1-3 seconds after you fire off an explosive (RPG), your explosive disappears altogether - in Reach if you shoot/throw and explosive and immediately die afterwards, the explosives do not disappear, they may miss, or veer off target, but they do not dissapear

In CoD MW3 you cannot climb up on anything, nothing, invisible walls are everywhere (this one is not as bad as well, but again very unrealistic for a realistic made game)- in Reach, and other halos, you can climb on almost anything, the only time you are blocked is if you are attempting to leave the map boundaries,

okay that's enough, you get the point

The thing is Halo is and apparently will always be the better game. granted, CoD has a more realistic actual human combat game type, but if we lived in the world that was similar to halo universe, (and god forbid, not because it wouldn't be cool to be a spartan and all, but billions if not trillions of innocent people died in the halo universe), then halo would be the realistic game and CoD would be the fictional game (or rather historical game).

I know this is just my opinion and assessment, but it is based off of years of playing both Halo and CoD. Halo Reach is by far the better game and I have not seen any other game comparable (EXCEPT, the Dead space games)

So overall, Reach is a better game because of the detailed work done on it, and i look forward to future halo games (H4) than any other. If you agree/disagree or have anything to add, please post your thoughts and opinions.

PS: Also on a side note, Halo Reach is the only game that i have not experienced, boosters, or hackers.

Nice wall of opinions. Now where is the facts located?

Arbitor they outnumber us three to one!
Then it is an even fight.

Arbitor > Arbiter.
Arbitor = Rank above Arbiter.

A big thanks to kids that did this to 343 after they heard they get an infection game mode in halo 4 with no thought of normal playlists.

all halo games are better then cod, before they even make a trailer

well, first off, i did say these were my own opinions on why Halo Reach is better than CoD mw3 (and Halo in general being better than CoD games), and the list of examples are actual facts. You want proof of them, ask anybody who has ever played CoD MW3.

Not true. There are plenty of times i have fired off a rocket or grenade that results in the "afterlife" points being awarded due to them connecting after i die.

If you are refering to how you shooting the projectile and then die but nothing happens, i have your answer.

Ready for it?...

Lag.

~ Videogames are my favorite videogames ~

I didn't know this was up to debate really.

Seeing the same reload animations in every CoD, even when different gun models should give you a good enough answer when it comes to quality.

Real account.

Join me as we make new friends from different communities!

If you assign every letter of the alphabet a number, a is 1, b is 2, etc., and you take all of the values of the word "MATH", and add them, you get 42. So math is the meaning of life, the universe, and everything.

Its nice that you can compare games.

Now compare Halo to Pong.

i said that i played CoD, but halo (meaning the games of halo, from the first all the way to Reach) is always first, meaning i like halo better, and it is better than CoD IN GENERAL.

and last time i checked the game was called Halo Reach.

also the reload animations are similar, its just the new guns have different reloads. especially that pp90,

That's funny because the reload animation is one of the few things they always change in every new call of duty.

If only that was true. For example, PM9 having the Mini Uzi's reload.

Either way, it makes me feel sad when people say Bungie didn't put their best foot forward with Reach, their final game. Just go into theater sometime and check out all the little details for everything.

In CoD MW3 you cannot see your legs - in Reach you canWho the -blam!- cares about that?
In CoD MW3 your health regenerates to normal, (this one is not so bad, but its unrealistic for a realistic made game)- in Reach you get wounded, you lose health, you regain only a little as you recover from the initial shock of being wounded, but you are still hurt, and you only heal if you get a med pac or use a bubble shieldAre you saying CoD is suppose to be realistic? LOL, it's a damn arcade shooter ofcourse -blam!- isn't going to make sense.
In CoD MW3 if you die 1-3 seconds after you fire off an explosive (RPG), your explosive disappears altogether - in Reach if you shoot/throw and explosive and immediately die afterwards, the explosives do not disappear, they may miss, or veer off target, but they do not dissapearSo?
In CoD MW3 you cannot climb up on anything, nothing, invisible walls are everywhere (this one is not as bad as well, but again very unrealistic for a realistic made game)- in Reach, and other halos, you can climb on almost anything, the only time you are blocked is if you are attempting to leave the map boundaries,Again with this "for a realistic game" crap. Look above.

At release WaW had a great multiplayer before the hackers came in, and the campaign was outstanding. And with the N@zi Zombies addition after you beat the campaign is a great reward.

Fanboys. Ha it's funny because not once was Reach beaating Cod Mw3 in the charts.

  • 04.16.2012 6:40 PM PDT

How is this up for debate? Call of Duty is only the smart option for extremely casual players, seeing as that's who the gameplay benefits. Not to mention the developers have a bad addiction to turning all their sequels into cash cows, unlike Bungie who cares about their customers, though we can only pray 343 stays true to that.

I kept a slice of ham in my pants for the last 3 days, just so i could have my own secret.

I like my sci fi shooters to be as realistic as possible. If its not realistic alien, then what's the point? Lol

I still don't understand the conflict between "Call of Duty" and "Halo".
They are both, great games. Diffrent people have diffrent interests.
Respect both opinions, it's the nice thing to do.
