That's quite interesting.

EDIT: actually forget that. It makes sense, because people joined at roughly the same age.

Played since Halo CE, so when I was 8 - Hurray for older brother getting me started early! - originally joined back on old old old B-net... with the bright blue.. and the page links on the bottom... (Anybody have a screen cap of that version of B-net? I can't find it)

EDIT: There we go, what a beauty

I need more numbers for the categories to be more defined.

Key

Not so much a BNet join-date but a "Started-Playing-Halo" join-date. Because people tend to start playing Halo around 12-15 years of age, so you can guess from there. Unless you were an adult when CE came out. In which case, good for you.

I joined in 2005. I am 20 years old.

Although i think alot of 04's and 05's played Halo CE before joining up to Bnet.

It was only until Halo 2 that i became interested in the forums because i wanted to know what the game would be like. And then stayed for the stats.

This I visited Bungie since Halo 2 era, but I joined the B.net community in 2008. Also I will be 20 this year..

Avg Join Age
= 13

= 12.5

= 12.5

Messed about with the numbers a bit. Average age of join seems to show pretty inconclusive results.

DMH

Nope, definitely not.

I joined because of Halo 3 suggesting it. I just hadn't considered looking for the site before that, so it really doesn't indicate my age at all

Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.

I know mythics who joined when they were a tike.

This is why I joined. Then again I did not start playing HALO until H3 released.

Blackness Confirmed. You've got soul.

The Ultimate Opinion.

I am four years old. My father made me this account when I was born.

  • 04.16.2012 1:07 PM PDT

I LOVE HALO! Better than any other game.

But I love Halo 3 and Combat Evolved - never got the chance to play Halo 2 :(

I am 14 with an '09 account :/

  • 04.16.2012 1:15 PM PDT

I'm 13 with a 06 account.

I would not be surprised if the people with older accounts on average are slightly older, but I am sure there are more than a few people who are still fairly young, but have old accounts.

90s FTW!

I joined a month and a half ago and I'm 27.

Probably just an anomaly. I frequent some other boards and I came here because I wanted to try a new place out. I also would agree that generally older accounts means older people.

Per Audacia Ad Astra

Not necessarily, although this rule is commonly valid.
You could have 18-year-old people joining today, thus disproving your statement. But in most cases, the Mythic and/or Veteran members tend to be older than lesser* member titles.

Agreed. But like I said before, there are going to be individual exceptions. Example: I'm 26 with a join date of 2007. So I'm above average.

If people would just stop automatically disproving my suggestion and actually help, this would be much smoother.

I came for Halo, but I heard the Tru7h, fought thru Carnage, and stayed for Bungie.

I'm 20 with a 4 year old account. I joined in February of 2008. I've been playing Halo since the beginning in '01, but I was slow to realize Bungie's awesomeness beyond the game itself. I didn't have Xbox Live on the original Xbox, so I never played Halo 2 online. If I had, I probably would have been here much sooner.

Generally, yes there's a correlation between account age and real age. The correlation coefficient is about -1.2, meaning that for every year of account age, the user is about 1.2 years older.

Nice idea for a research project, though. /hire
