Okay...

You are forced to walk across a suface that is one hundred miles long.
The surface is at extreme tempetures and your wearing rubber shoes.

so...

As you begin your walk you feel your legs being engulfed by a wave of extreme heat. the hairs on your legs begin to fall off. As you progress your notice that your shoes begin to melt. You panic at the thought of having to walk across the scrorching ground with no shoes, so you begin to run. After a few minutes your running slows to a jog due to the emense heat that the ground is giving off. You look back and see that you have only made it a couple miles and your shoes continue to melt. Your heart begins to beat harder and harder as the scorching ground singes your legs. You feel that you can not jog anymore but know your shoes can't take anymore punishment. S you push as hard as you ever have before trying to keep your feet off of the ground. Dehydration hits and your body heats up to the point where it hurts to breath. You begin to feel death come upon you but you don't accept it. You push harder and harder praying that you will make it. An excrutiating pain comes upon you, you look down and the ground has burnt a hole through your shoe. The ground instantly incennerates your sock and the very skin on your feet feels like hell. You fall to the ground now knowing that you will not make it to the other side. The pain seems to be taking away your very inteligence as the fiery ground burns through your cloths. You can't stand the pain anylonger and you begin to go insane searching for somthing to grab onto. Yet there is nothing there. just endless miles of nothing but horendously hot floor. The gorund has burn't through your skin and now dires the very blood inside of you. Unimaginable pain cuts into you. You start to wonder why you haven't died, as half your body is now ash smeared across the scorching floor. Minutes later only small parts of your body remain but you still somhow cling onto life. The floor is now getting hot to where the rest of your body is instanly inceneratined. You find your self in a deep dark cold place. Then you awaken with a bright blistering light. You now see that you are at the beginning of the scorching floor once again. You stare is disbelief as the hundred miles of scorching ground now lie before you once more!!!

Thats what I think hell would be like.

Five Tenets of Bungie.net Forum Life:
1. Trolls will always be well fed.
2. Blame-ability thy name is stosh.
3. Bungie has no control over retail prices.
4. Watch out for low-flying defense drones.
5. Seven is not optional, but rather, an inevitability.

You've spent quite awhile thinking about this haven't you?

You forgot the agonizing helucinations that set it. To make it worse, they could be helucintaions of your family, or someone/something you hold dear. Remember, Hell's a tricky place.

Edit: Forgot to say good plot. I liked the twist at the end.

Something that would make it worse is being so close to getting something, like in the middle its cool and theres water to drink and swim in but you can never make it just get within feet of it now that would be hell. Nice job by the way

It's like the story of Prometheus (pretty sure it's him) and having to push the boulder up the hill just to get pecked away at near the top by a bird and die. Then he gets ressurected just to have to push the boulder back up the hill again and repeat the process.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that was Prometheus.

There's also a Portible T.V set Xbox with halo 2 in it hovering just a foot abouve you'r head, but every time you try to jump or reach fore it, It will float up just a inch above you'r grasp.

*shivers at the thought*

Haha. I said "emotional anguish" not "petty bad feelings."

Buddhist monks can withstand the pain of fire. Can they withstand complete despair?

Physical pain will always be tolerable. People of old could do it, but I don't think anything could compare to some kinds of emotional pain out there. And I don't just mean emotional pain, I mean like, REAL emotional pain. Something I've never and hope to never have to experience.

*shudders*

Loneliness is one of the worst pains. I don't mean the "woe is me, nobody at school likes me" loneliness - I mean the true rejection and scorn from EVERYONE you know. That type of loneliness, especially when a child, is terrible to bear.

Ever had Halo withdraw?

But seriously, I'd have to go with the emotional suffering, it could lead to mental suffering which, in some cases, leads people onto hurting themselves physically. Like a domino effect, thats how I see it at least.

Well.. physical pain is standable. I even like some types of it, like the feeling of getting punched or spanked.
