Ever had Halo withdraw?

But seriously, I'd have to go with the emotional suffering, it could lead to mental suffering which, in some cases, leads people onto hurting themselves physically. Like a domino effect, thats how I see it at least.

i've had a halo withdrawl. its not a fun thing.

Psh. Taking a break from a game is a great feeling. Makes you appreciate the game more when you are playing it.

Alot of people enjoy pain to certain degrees. It can be theraputic, or really kinky.
Anyone who goes through life avoiding pain doesn't want to live.

I agree.

I've always liked being spanked. Not the wimpy spanking, that just gets annoying, but the "wow my ass is numb" type of spanking.

I avoid arms. People often see it and think you're trying to get attention.

If you want to shed a little blood go for something people rarely see, like the upper parts of your legs.

This story reminded me of a book I read once. The Long Walk by Stephen King under the pen name Richard Bauchman.

It gnaws at your sanity.

Finding pleasure in pain is somewhat practical. If you learn to enjoy it you'll be able to turn an "ouch I g0t cutz0rz!" moment into a "... *orgasmic shuttering*..." moment.

Which is awkward in public. If possible, avoid orgasming while talking with friends; it makes everyone uncomfortable.

We’ve watched while the stars burned
Out, and creation played in reverse.
The Universe freezing in half-light.
Once I thought to escape.
To end a master, step out of the
Path of collapse. Escape would make us God.
Yet I cannot help but remember one enigma,
A hybrid, elusive destroyer.
This is the one mystery I have not solved.
The only element unaccounted for.

It's like the story of Prometheus (pretty sure it's him) and having to push the boulder up the hill just to get pecked away at near the top by a bird and die. Then he gets ressurected just to have to push the boulder back up the hill again and repeat the process.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that was Prometheus.

Prometheus had his liver eaten by vultures.
Sisyphus had to push the boulder up the hill.
Thery're both Greek, though, so easy mistake.

I'm not insane, I merely have a very broad definition of 'reality.'

I've had a few friends who were cutters, but they accidentily went too far and ended up in the hospital. One actually almost died.

I don't see what it is about pain that... makes people not want to do it, or experience it. Obviously I don't want to do anything that could threaten my life, or the use of any part of my body, but I think that you have to experience pain to... I don't know, live. It's weird, really. Certain types of pain aren't bad at all. It's just another feeling.

I don't generally like to make myself bleed, because it gets so messy.

Either way, I prefer Tantalus to them both. Eternally thirsty, and eternally hungry. He has grapes above his head, that are always just barely out of reach, and he is standing in water that lowers every time he tries to drink it. Both physical pain and the psycological anguish.

Good ol' Greek gods. Don't, ever, cross one.

Once my brother, Jerry, cut in front of Zeus in line and he got turned into a trashcan!

You think as I do. I came into this thread ready to say that the fate of Tantalus was the worst, and it looks like you beat me to it.

Yeah I'm a little rusty on my Greek mythology, the last mythology book I read was on Norse mythology. Thats some good stuff.

This kind of suffering sounds like a perfect ending for Bush and the Saudi Royal family.

I always sort of thought of hell as like a theater, where you get to sit and watch the most painful memories from your life as if you were living them, over and over again. With things that have happened to me in the short time I've been alive, that would suck. Like a Hoover.
