Hope there not as hard to kill this time round. In Reach I thought they were insanley overpowered.

They will be harder. Forerunner tech for all.

Per Audacia Ad Astra

Hopefully they are restored to their 8ft glory like back in Halo: Combat Evolved where, at first, they seem like a though enemy rather than a double melee and spray target.

I don't care how brutal they are. Just as long as they're down to earth:

-reasonable health (CE, H2)
-need to reload/can overheat gun (CE, H2, H3)
-reasonable cqc (CE)
-reasonable sight and hearing (CE)
-susceptible to manipulation (CE)
-susceptible to conventional means of death (CE, H2)

There's a reason I can tolerate H2 Elites while despising Reach Elites with contempt.

The problem with Reach Elites:

-gain noticeable projectile speed increase on higher difficulties
-immense damage boost
-bottomless clip
-fuel rod guns have slight homing iirc
-damage sponges (introduced in H3: higher rank = more health in addition to shield)
-cqc is absurd. One of the things that made Elites so great in CE were that their melees propelled them forward. The faster grenade throwing is good though since there's less chance of sticking allies
-tanks are death traps. Once an Elite boards you, there's no way to escape or get him off. You're dead in seconds. Bungie didn't adjust the H3 Elites properly...
-concussion rifle wielders vs. concussion rifle player. It doesn't make sense that they do a hell lot of damage while I can't even scratch even a Grunt or Jackal
-no rank distinction. To me, Elite minor, major, and ultra are the same. They don't take cover like CE Elites and they all throw grenades. Spec Ops Elites in CE took cover a lot and threw a lot of grenades. Now they are redundant and shamed (unholy fusion of Stealth and Spec Ops, 2 completely different ranks). Majors in CE fired in short bursts while Zealots in CE fired in long bursts. There's hardly a difference in Reach.
-plasma grenade, plasma rifle, needler, and various other weapons have been made null and void against them. It's just sad that I have to use the plasma pistol bolts all the time.

I'd rather face 90 H2 Ultras or 20 CE Majors than fight a single Reach Elite Minor. Reach Elites are barbaric and far from the honorable Elites we were led to believe in. But most importantly, they are less responsive (overly responsive to needle rifle fire though) and have very few reactions, one of which is overused (berserking).

This.

I don't know, I think that all master chief has to do is shoot or chop off their arms, since they seem to have absolutely no armor there.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

Yeah, I already played it. They're super duper hard.

<.<

They can use the force now...

Hard to Kill?

-Watertribe-

They are easier to kill because they arn't the main enemy of the game and they arn't fitted like normal covenant armys.
