The only thing anyone knows about the ark is it can remotely activate all the halo's.

The ark could be the size of a tv remote for all we know, and it is just somewhere inside the structure shown in the trailer.

i think that the halo's use Nutrino Radiation that penetrates all known matter, maybe the foreunners underestimated the radiation strength and died by a freak accident...

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

who can say really, guilty spark did say that the forerunners died as a result of firing halo, and he said it was "as planned"

I am fairly confident that we will see the forerunners or the halo-activation survivors in Halo 3. If they're anywhere they will be in the Ark, after all the Ark is traditionally a haven that protects its inhabitants from the Flood. Perhaps they have been in stasis for all these millennia...

Cant wait to see what a class-12 combat skin looks like...

The fact that Gravemind is alive would lead me to believe that they(forerunners) only fired one Installation.

If the Ark is on Earth and Earth is out of range of that Installation then all is well, they lived inside the earth in Stasis waiting to be found.

Its obvious the Ark is big, so it is more than just one button. I am sure it is very involving much like every other forerunner structure before it.

What happens to sentient life that is in slipspace when a Halo installation is fired?

I just don't know why they'd call it an Ark if it weren't intended to preserve a particular race through a certain disaster. My god, how depressing would it be for Bungie to kill off the entire human race at the end of Halo 3? The Ark will be their only refuge.....

it's true that calling it and Ark leads one to believe that it may provice "sanctuary" agianst the blast, but that may be exactly the point. it makes you think your safe, and boom, dead. i guess we'll find out won't we.
