I started up the heated debate on whether the SPARTAN-II in the cryo tube near the end of Reach is really Linda.
I created the Moa XING avatar pic.

I've created a youtube channel dedicated to helping people out with canon questions on Halo. I'm trying to also debunk popular canon rumors. Right now one I notice is that people are saying that the Spartans in Halo 4's multiplayer are wearing Mark IV armor.

Anyway what are some of the biggest questions on Halo canon going on right now? I'll address them in some videos.

Spartan IVs arn't wearing Mk IV armor, the armor they're wearing hasn't been confirmed.

[Death to all who appose of me...]

You can probably look back a few pages and find tons of questions, but Spartan IV's are not confirmed to be wearing Mk IV, but it can be assumed at this point b/c 343 has not said anything different yet. Also a question that i just saw was if elites will be in Halo 4, yes it is confirmed that elites WILL return but they will only be a small part of the problem(you are fighting against the elites again. source: Game-informer)

You can start by explaining how Master Chief has a new set of armor, other than the Mark VI?

End of Halo 3: He's got Mark VI.
Start of Halo 4: He appears to have, what I believe to be, Mark VII. (Halo: Glasslands)

I mean, he's in a Cryo Tube, for Christ's sake. How does that even work?

Please.

Actually there's a canonical reason for his armor change, though I personally don't like how 343i did it. I had a way better idea on how he gets new armor.

Woah slow down with the name calling. I actually dont know anything about this so i was under the assumption that they just took the Makr VI armor and threw their own style on it. I dont know what 343's canonical reasoning behind the armor change is(im hoping it is not that part about cortana saing she changed him a bit)

But anyways chill out i also thought that he was still wearing Mark VI and it was just a different look, that way they were seperating themselves from what Bungie made him look like.

That's not art style, I read somewhere in 343 forums that's a different armor upgrade, but I dunno how he gets it.

"I may not be perfect, but always been true."

John got a Mark VII armor, see the armor the Spartan IV's have, same undersuit and all and they were given Mark VII suits (as far as I can remember from Glasslands)

It's not Mark VII. He's in the Forward Unto Dawn wearing this new armor (not referring to the reveal trailer.)
So far it's confirmed that Cortana upgraded his FIRMWARE, but that doesn't exactly explain his new armor. Though apparently she did some other changes.

It was said that Cortana made HUD changes while John was "sleeping."

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

Why does the green cyborg robot on the cover have the name Halo? It's really unusual and makes no sense...

Only kidding. It's a joke. Don't get your fanboy pants in a bunch.

OT: S-IV's have Mark VII armor. End of story. If you're going to do this series, I suggest getting your facts right.

Artistic license. Halo 4's MK. VI is now canon.

Ok 343i admitted that there is just a canonical explanation for the change (firmware and armor.)
Basically the Chief is wearing an upgraded Mark VI.
Now 343i could have made a way better explanation for the armor change.

Here is what I would have done. The Chief wakes up out of cryo with the Mark VI on. Chief gets rescued by the UNSC Infinity (of which he is confirmed to be on in Halo 4) and they give him Mark VII.
To me it seems a bit pointless to introduce the Mark VII to Halo canon without the Chief actually going to wear it.

If you're passionate about the thing you're talking about, I'll always lend an ear.

Halo 4 is basically a reboot sequel.

No a reboot sequel would be something like The Incredible Hulk. Halo 4 is just a sequel.
Anyway 343i has been pretty good with the canon. What I don't understand is when did Cortana exactly mess with the Chief's suit? In 2556-2557 his suit was still the standard Mark VI as seen in Origins.

No "The Incredible Hulk" is a reboot. Not a reboot sequel.

Halo 4 isn't just a sequel. Have you been so blind to ignore the lack of continity in it's artisitic design [A major factor in any reboot] it's a sequel in the sense that it carrys on the story from 3 but its its own reimagining from something else [Forerunner Trilogy]

Hmm.... lets THINK about this shall we. Halo 4... first in the Forerunner Trilogy.....

Support link.

Here

Halo 4's Creative director's mouth over yours.

How could your OP even talk about being specialist canon discussion when you can't even differentiate that Halo 4,5 and 6 has shifted in design and canon than from Halo 1,2 and 3.

It's a reboot sequel.

Aim small..........Miss small

John is wearing a different set of armor due to nanobots that made upgrades to his old armor while he was asleep.

:)
The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

That Spec Ops Elite looked pretty badass.

Although they kept them to Halo Reach's style, really.

It was said that SIV's are wearing a lighter version of MJOLNIR. An upgraded, up armored version of SPI comes to mind...

I understand nothing because my life is a conspiracy.

Spartan IV's would only wear Mark IV armor if 343i wanted to make Halo more like CoD due to the lack of shields.

It's probably going to be Mark VII.

Weather or not the Pillar of Autumn would have been able to land on Reach and have been able to take off again, you could take stuff like the gravitational force of the planet and how heavy the ship is into consideration.
