Subject: The Future Audio of Bungie

Basically, I make the best topics ever.

Feedback!
Duardo: This thread is locked for being stupid.
cortana 5 : It's perpetually my time of the month and I'm just grouchy.
Foman: I see absolutely no reason, either theoretical or practical, that this is not a superb idea. Excellent work, my friend.

I'm not sure this goes here, but I made an educated guess and believe that this forum is more appropriate. If a mod feels otherwise, please lock.

Bungie, through the Halo series, has always been characterized by very unique audio, both through effects and music (*Tips hat to Marty and team*). That said, my understanding is that the audio for Halo 4 is being revamped to fit a new team and transition. But my question isn't about Halo 4 or 343, but rather about the future of Bungie.

I'm curious to know if Marty and team plan on building off of the mood and atmosphere developed in the previous Halo games or if everything is being revamped for 'Destiny.' I realize that Bungie is dark and yada-yada-yada, but it seems as if this is one of the least discussed aspects of Bungie's next big thing. I've always associated Halo, and by extension Bungie, with fairly moody, dark, and somewhat haunting soundtracks and I'm having a hard time picturing the next game without that.

TL;DR: Speculation as to the future of Bungie's role in sound.

EDIT: Don't start topics when tired kids: I somehow put down Franky instead of Marty.

Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.

I love the dark themed music, I also liked the fast paced music during intense parts of the halo games.

I think he got a little confused. Its all good. Marty is the mastermind behind the music. Im sure perfect audio tracks will be pumped out. Man knows whats hes doing. Something about having a Orchestra in studio just makes the music..."pop"

Bye.

The audio, melodically, will take a new direction from HALO. Look at Halo Reach's soundtrack and compare that to the Original trilogy, Halo Reach was a big step from the standard halo release (Like ODST before it), notice how it's quite a bit different. We can't tell what mood will go into the game because we don't have much information or context. What I do know is that Marty is good at conveying emotion on screen without it being forceful and feeling unnatural. I'm sure Marty will give us a great new, interesting and delicious theme that we'll be humming to ourselves for the next 10 years.

Whatever it turns out to be, I'll be very excited to hear it.

Why do people in ship mutinies always ask for "better treatment"? I'd ask for a pinball machine, because with all that rocking back and forth, you'd get a lot of free games.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

I am sure that they are capable of producing sounds and music that fit the new IP's "feel".

Per Audacia Ad Astra

Halo was just one audio-universe Marty was able to venture into.
I'm looking forward to what the next amazing soundtrack is going to be.

Listen to the start of the O Brave New Worlds ViDoc on repeat. You should get a decent idea of the future of Bungie's audio.

If you're reading this, congratulations. You've just pressed a button to find out a little bit more about me. Not that you will, but well done anyway.

I was always really impressed by the audio of the Bungie era Halo games, the soundtracks by Marty are fantastic and the SFX very good too. I'm certain that the same passion will go into Bungie's future games, and hopefully the new music will be as unique to the new universe as Halo's was to its own.
