If you love to write, yet you can't seem to find an outlet for all that creativity, I'd recommend joining Writers' Corner.
Writers are welcome.
In fact, artists of any kind are valued here.
And if you like a off-topic discussion, check us out! See? Membership's open. You don't have to be a genius writer to join, or submit a portfolio to be approved into the group.
We can do serious pieces:
Chalky Plasma - jbh0220
My dear reader,
Today is quite the day for my first ever entry into what will become a visage painting of this moment forth, to the rest of my life. My name is Coy; I like and dislike many things, though those are trivial obsessions that only the unaware would mark down in such a prestigious document, and how can I reflect the shining sun on this South Dakota afternoon if I'm too busy detailing my needs and wants?
But for the sake of it, and to reminisce back into this journal when my years have finally ensnared my entire being, I shall jot-down a brief history of my life in case of any form of forgetfulness characterizes me.
We can do amazing poetry:
The Day That Nature Truly Died - Flibaboua
There was a man, to me who said,
"Obey the trees and eat their bread,"
And I forever did obey
The man's request of me that day.
Into the forest I would ride,
Two days, three days, sometimes five,
To where the tress still spoke their names,
And so I listened, and they sang.
They sang the songs my fathers sang,
And rung the bells my mothers rang,
I cried the tears their children cried,
The day that nature truly died.
We can do great comedy:
The Waiting Room - SonOfTheShire
Richard sat opposite God. He smiled. "Might I just say how great it is that you're actually real."
"Richard Smith, is it? Let's see: you were an accountant; divorced; one daughter, estranged; law-abiding. Recently deceased."
"That's me. Even the deceased part. Wouldn't want to do that again."
"And you were agnostic."
"Yep. I liked my chances."
"Tell me, Rick, how would you feel knowing that someone was 'open' to the idea of you?"
Richard's smile died. "What?"
"I'm just curious. Would you feel upset, or perhaps a little annoyed?"
"But... I... I..."
"You were 'open' to my presence because you liked the idea of Heaven. You weren't ready to commit to religion and you didn't want to go with science."
"I didn't think you'd be so petty!"
"And, judging from your file, you were a bit of a jerk," God said, a smile forming on his face.
"Tell me, Mr. Smith. Are you open to the idea of Hell?"
So here's that link again. Give us a shot.
