I started up the heated debate on whether the SPARTAN-II in the cryo tube near the end of Reach is really Linda.
I created the Moa XING avatar pic.
Also I earned the All Star nameplate with this submission to Week 14 All Stars http://www.bungie.net/images/News/Inline11/bwu_0415/art/likea boss.jpg

Josh Holmes is the Creative Director behind Halo 4. He was also the Director of Turok (2008).
Both games involve the protagonist waking up out of cryo in a space ship. The ship gets attacked by a familiar enemy and crashes on a strange alien world. The hero arrives on the alien world in the rear end of the ship. The protagonist fights familiar enemies along with some "ancient evil."

Anybody else notice this?
BTW I found the plotline of Turok to be very similar to Halo. Hero wakes up out of cryo. Ship gets attacked. A man who is telling the hero to follow him gets killed by an explosion with an immediate tutorial on crouch walking under objects. The hero along with some soldiers arrive on the planet (with the ship crashed) and fight off an ancient evil along with familiar ones.
In the end, the hero along with 2 other survivors make it off the planet in a very small craft with no cryo tubes. If I remember correctly, only 3 people survived Halo: CE, John, Cortana and Johnson. Now there were other characters but they died in First Strike.

Quote from Confucius

By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection, which is noblest; Second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which is the bitterest.

Interesting.........there could be a connection

It's settled then.

The Ancient Evil is the T-Rex.

Seriously though, never thought of that.

Fighting a T-Rex would be awesome.

More than 3 people survived CE.

"Apparently people don't like the truth, but I do like it; I like it because it upsets a lot of people. If you show them enough times that their arguments are bull-blam!-, then maybe just once, one of them will say, 'Oh! Wait a minute I was wrong.' I live for that happening. Rare, I assure you."-Lemmy of Motorhead

Yes, I'm the guy who had the Flood admit to being furries.

As much as I despised Turok 2008 for going completely against what Turok was about, I did like the gameplay, presentation and the enemies. I do see the connection, but you can make the same connection with Halo 1 as well.

However, the opening of Halo 4 is probably meant to parallel how Marathon 2 started. the protagonist( both wearing Mjolnir no less) wakes up from cryo after years of sleep from an A.I (Cortana, Durandal) and is sent down on a planet.
