DMR, BR sucks. I'm glad they dumped that peice.:  27%

I know there's been a lot of debate on this, so excuse my heresy. But really, which do you like better. I prefer/slay with a BR, but even though i'm proficent with a DMR, pretty much every other weapon overpowers it. It's kinda awkward when i'm playing Reach, stopping for a second, and screaming to the Heavens(and 343), WHERE IS MY BR!?!?

Funny, I thought the DMR was much more balanced within Reach's sandbox than the BR was within Halo 3's. Weapon variety is a good thing.

Can there be an "I like both" choice?

  • 04.21.2012 5:09 PM PDT

The DMR is the better choice. The BR is an inaccurate piece of garbage with an awful spread, it forgives mistakes (if you miss, the other two shots can kill for you if you correct your aim) and the inaccuracies were uncontrolable.

The DMR is hitscan, only fires one round so if you miss, you are not forgiven, if it does have bloom, you can control it, and if it doesn't it can be 100% accurate all the time.

There's always room for you, If you want to be my friend.

ZB DMR was better than the Halo 3 BR.

In SWAT, The BR was amazing. it was perfect. you could just swing the gun and shoot, and one of the bullets would land on their head (of course the physics behind the game don't work like this, you get my point) SWAT is an entirely different game in reach. As for standard Slayer? The difference between a 4 shot and a 5 shot is almost non-existent. I personally find the DMR much easier to use.

H3 BR was designed for LAN.

ZB DMR is better for competitive online play.

H2 BR was perfect.

Err no, weapons with bloom in reach does not works good.

Pacing or not pacing your shots, there will always be bullets not counting or just going anywhere else but your enemy.

There's a bunch of other non-power weapons that can beat a DMR user: AR and Magnum up close, GL and NR and Needler at mid range. In Halo 3 everyone was either using a BR or a power weapon, there were really no other viable options.

Forget it man, and get with the countdown. Shake this square world and blast off for Kicksville.

Reach host ranking algorithm: (a*quit_percentage + b*isMexican + c*(1/KDR) + d*hasGuest) * 100
where a > b = d > c

The BR was more aesthetically satisfying, I'll give it that.

H3 AR rapes a BR in close range, you have the AR's switched around. The DMR is just as powerful when compared to the rest of the sandbox as the BR is, it's not the weapons fault, it just the rest of the sandbox is complete crap.

I find the DMR dominates the Reach sandbox, more so than the BR in H3.

DMR unbalances just about everything in Reach, excluding power weapons.

DMR is the same as BR, except BR is 3-round-burst and DMR is semi-automatic.

H2 br or H3 br?

Because the 2 are different.

I do not troll. At all.

Also, MLG FTW, if you don't like it, you probably suck.

Regardless of which weapon is superior, I've gotta say that there's just something about racking up the kills with the H3 BR that always gets me, and that I've never been able to re-create with the DMR.

So, for the one that I love, H3 BR.

Bullets not counting if they actually hit only happens with very bad lag. Read: Hitscan

And he is exactly right. Without bloom it is accurate all the time. With bloom, you control the probability that it will hit.

Frank O'Connor said he doesn't think the Halo series needs to be taken in a radical new direction... it just needs to go "deeper"

"Ultimately the core game mechanic and strength of the universe doesn't need to be changed, it just needs to be taken deeper. We want to make Halo games - we don't want to make Call of Duty or Ridge Racer. We want to make Halo games because we understand what's special about Halo."

BR.
