Now don't get me wrong at all. Halo made me a Bungie fan seeing as I wasn't old enough to play their earlier games. Still Halo is what has enstilled my faith in Bungie into me. Yet while I have been on the forums almost every other day of recent weeks it seems that people still feel the need to discuss what could be in upcoming Halo games.

Now I'm all up for discussing Halo but it worries me that Bungie may not be able to get past something they created. They have made such Halo fans that it seems these guys and gals seem to care for nothing else by Bungie. Now this may be a misconception on my part easily but I do not see as many threads pondering what could be in Bungie's next game. Just threads discussing what could be in upcoming Halo.

I understand the idea of beating a dead horse but what exactly are the Halo threads doing. I am just hoping to find, through this thread, others that are optimistic of Bungie's next game. Threads popping up constantly that include people debating over what they think it should include. Looking for other gamers who aren't into the Halo chatter as much as I'm not into it. Because it seems to be all everyone has been talking about pre-release of all H4 trailers, during the Destony rumors, and post-H4 trailers.

I'm totally up for viewpoints from different people. My opinion obviously isn't set in stone but I would like to know where the Bungie forums stand in a sorts. Still loyal to Halo but expecting something better and new, or stuck on a game that has passed.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

I don't fall into either of those options.

I don't care about Bungie or their next game. I'm only focused on Halo. And it was clear with Reach that Bungie should not be managing Halo anymore...

I trust Bungie. My biggest concern is that everyone else is expecting too much. Everyone knows Halo and all the awesomeness that went with it. I think that people are expecting another sci-fi space marine kind of game from Bungie, since it kind of has been their forte since Marathon started, but I think that is unfair. If Bungie makes an RPG then that is what they make. As long as it is awesome who really cares what kind of game it is? I see no reason to think that Halo is completely out of their minds(Marathon easter eggs were all over Halo, so why not expect the same in their next game?) I believe Bungie has moved forward, but I think the community will take some more time to catch up.

I'll make my ultimate decision on Bungie when their next game comes out.

I'm a Halo fan, but I have yet to discover if I am a Bungie fan as well

As the Famous Philosopher Rick Astley once said: "Never going to give you up, Never going to let you go, Never going to turn around and desert you....."

My main question is what will happen to this website when bunjie aren't creating the halo games, will it become a halo free site?

Almost this. I take into account that Bungie were the ones that gave us 4 great Halo games. It's possible that they could create another wonderful gaming experience. But, how long would it be before they release a title in the series that completely kills all that they created?

  • 04.23.2012 12:38 PM PDT

Believe. Bungie.

I dont see a title that is possible of destroying all that Bungie has created. A game they make that is so bad it ruins the whole company and all of the recognition they have received will have been for naught. You say this as if it is inevitable for any gaming studio. That eventually they make a game that ruins their legacy. I dont want to flame you but what your saying seems like nonsense to me.

I understand nothing because my life is a conspiracy.

You shouldn't have to stay with one franchise to be successful.

I will buy Bungie's next game. Why? Even though Halo Reach was a bad Halo game it's pretty obvious what it really was. The multiplayer was basically a beta for Bungie's next game. They were expirementing with new elements to be implemented into their next game. Halo 3: ODST was a clear beta for new campaign elements.

So I would side with Bungie not Halo. 343i is clearly killing the Halo 4 matchmaking and I know Destiny will be much better.

I can't find the reasoning behind so many people disliking Reach. I think hat because the hive-mind believes its horrible everyone else must see through the greatness in it and dislike it. I for one like Reach. Although i consider myself fairly good at Halo so I have fun when i play online I can definitively see people being turned away from a game in anger because of lack of skill or even abuse of cheap weaponry. Some people just don't like a game because they are bad at it and that's the truth. I don't believe that is a reason for a game to be disliked. Like when you talk to a friend and say,"hey you just don't want to play because you know you suck."

~ Videogames are my favorite videogames ~

I'm interested to see what they do for their next game.

They finished their trilogy, got out a short side story, and even made a prequel. I'd be wanting to try something fresh too.

People are just angsty since nothing is known, and of course it will be a whole new universe to get into, which may make others feel uncomfortable.

Nothing resembling any of the above.

I don't "decide" between one game or another. I will play Halo 4. I will also play whatever Bungie comes out with. I am a fan of both. I'm also a fan of CoD, Gears of War, Mass Effect, Splinter Cell, and ANY goddamn excretion with a Star Wars label on it, no matter how terrible. Damn you to hell, George Lucas. The point is, my interests are many and varied, and just because I'm a fan of Bungie doesn't mean I can't be a fan of Halo as well, and to get all loyalist about stuff doesn't serve any purpose other than to divide people and raise blood pressures.

I've never understood it, all this violent arguing about how CoD is better, no, Halo is better, no you're all wrong Gears is the best, no Gears is a TPS so it doesn't count. It's disturbing how closed off people's minds are. More than that, it's straight up frightening, because these people can vote (generally, anyway).

Ah, I was waiting for this. A few simple reasons.

1. I spend most of my time with some tight-knit groups on here.
2. There is still discussion about the Haloverse in this forum.
3. And other forums, like the ODST forum.
4. It's simple. Halo is still largely centered on here. Just because Bungie isn't managing it doesn't mean discussion on here is going to stop.
5. The Waypoint forums are pretty poopy.

Because that's a useful counterpoint to the argument being made...

For my part, I enjoyed, and still enjoy, Reach more than any of the original trilogy games, for a veritable myriad of reasons. I feel the same about ODST. I can understand why people who simply wanted more Halo games wouldn't like them, to be sure, but for what they were and are, I feel like they are simply better and have more to offer, and I feel that Bungie finished out their involvement in the Halo Universe with a bang rather than the whimper that many people seem to perceive. It's an opinion, to be sure, and certainly a debatable one, but so is the opinion that Reach is "bad."

I'm confident that their next game will receive at least a 90 percent on metacritic. As long as Bungie keeps thinking of their community, they're gonna be alllll right.

Tired of all the Reach-haters and ODST fanboys getting all butthurt about people having a different opinion than them, it really gets annoying sometimes. Noble Six pwns 117. Noble Team pwns Dare Squad, end of...

I think you misunderstood me. I was saying that I like Reach and ODST more than the original trilogy. And it's not just about the characters or the action happening in the stories. I honestly feel that the stories being told are BETTER than the storyline of the original trilogy. I feel like Bungie was experimenting with Classical storytelling elements, and it's a bold move that I appreciate and fully support.

Also, getting butthurt about anyone's opinion is an exercise in futility.

I throw these chumps in Tortillas cause I grind my BeeF

i think that reach was not focused on the simplicity of the ranking system like in Halo 2 it got too weired and Reach is a great game same as all the halo's but bungie should focus on the simple things that made Halo what it is like ditch all the fancy rank or do it right. it shouldnt be on play a million games and you can have the top rank no matter what. instead make it so you can be a high rank only if your a good player in the first game you should be able to reach the top rank with k/d medals and assist that way its overall or just stick to a number base rank like Halo 2 and call it quits just be simple the credit system they have in Reach is Garbage overthought nonsense but halo was founded on competive play and rank is very important to the loyal Halo players

My favorite group.

The way I see it, any game Bungie makes is inherently good (given their history of making really great games) until I have reason to believe that it is bad. So yeah, I guess I trust Bungie enough with their next idea.
