just my thought.
thnx

That space elevator looked like a forerunner ship to me in H2.

Space Elevators haven't been invented yet, so this can't possibly be true.

Caer bannog, i hope you're joking.

It's irrelevant to say that they arent invented NOW because the game takes place several hundred years in the future. Whatever bungie says, goes. I mean hell we dont have space warships or slipspace drives so therefore by youre logic they shouldnt exist in halo, even though the time in which the games take place is far in the future.

In the 26th century (of the Halo universe) New Mombasa does have a space elevator that transports goods to space where they are then sent to other colonies.

I don't recall them saying this is in the future. And really, Spaceships are more likely to function than Space Elevators are....loll.

the game takes place in the year 2552 if i recall correctlly.

yeah, actually. just checked the game manual for halo 1 and it says "the year is 2552." as the first line.

it would only make sense that it takes place in the future or another reality.dimension because we dont have shielding technology, smart AI, spaceships, colonies on other planets, and slipspace drives nowadays. but after re-reading the manual it makes more sense that it is in the future, not some other reality/dimension.

speaking of the space elevater, how come you dont see it when your in the Cairo? I mean if you look down at Earth, then you can clearly see the continent of Africa, and thats where New Mombasa is..

This is in New Mombasa. If you remember the covenet did a space jump inside the city. Remember the huge blast after? Well that's the damaged bridge.

Gamespot interview with Bungie..

The trailer is set in the African desert, and it was taken from roughly a third of the way through the game.

If I had a Rocket Launcher...

Shut up and get behind me... Sir!

The cable. I'm going to cut it.

Awesomeness would ensue.

Eh.
Last thing Bungie would want is an angry mob...

Read the Halo 3 Faq. and the Bungie Press interview. they stated that it's 1/3 of the way through the game like 4 weeks ago.

Looks like NASA disagrees with you.

How on earth would the perfectly circular wrecks on the ground be the bridge??? The bridge had no circles. The bridge had cables, but how does the circle work?? If you look the rings, they are scattered in a relative line for maybe 7 miles and past the ark and crater. Did the bridge extend 7+ miles? No. So stop being stuborn and refusing to listen. Its a space elevator.

Also, the ships are less realistic than the elevator. Slipspace acording to einstein is impossible (he may be wrong, but i doubt it). The space elevator would be made from a carbon based material that is very strong and light, this material is being tested now. The only thing needed to do it is space travel and a large economy on space.
