This is a very recent group, so if you join you will be among the first members.
The idea of this group may sound silly at first, but hear me out. It's an easy, and worthy cause.
First off, a quick introduction:
Wouldn't it be nice if all that stuff we learned about phonics in kindergarten didn't go out the window?
It's quite time for an English language revolution. It may sound ridiculous to many, but why don't we speak Old English anymore? Because over time, the speakers of the language developed something better. Well we need something better. And how is it going to change? By us making the difference. WE make the language better. There's no calling Webster, there's note vote in Congress, it's simply a matter of us choosing to improve the language we speak every day. If we achieve this, we will be making English better for the future generations.
It's time for improvement to rise. It's time for reform. It's time for the birth of New English.
Still not convinced?
Ever heard of the U.S. military rank Colonel? (It's pronounced ker-nuhl). ..WHAT?!
Double O says "book", but it also says "mood".
Audibly, "kite" and "light" rhyme. The G doesn't even have a reason to be in "light". G normally says what it does in "golf", "leg", and "wiggle".
PH for "phone" but F for "frog"?
And what about I-E, E-I?? You may say, there's a rule for that; I after E, except after C. Oh, yeah? Then what about these words?
We could go on, and on, and on.
In the group, we discuss phonology and which letters should make which sounds and when, what makes the most sense consistently, organize an improved dictionary, and promote progressive usage outside of the group (while texting, on Facebook, etc.). Let this take over. It will be worth it.
The bottom line is, we can fix this language.
In the group Forum, we will discuss how.
I say we start transforming English into a phonic language, not a random, crazy, rule-breaking language that makes no sense. It's very difficult for people to learn. Why does it need to be? Let's start changing the language NOW. WE are the English-speakers.
Before saying this isn't that important, it's not like I'm saying die for it, sure this isn't a massive cause, but it's EASY. It doesn't take a lot of trouble, and it will make a positive change for us and future generations. So my question is, WHY NOT?
If yu agree, joyn me. And remember, frendz...
Sawnd it awt.
