Sniping threads is always fun. I feel the same Urge to post when a thread is just at the brink of a new page. Especially the third page, because that's the hot-topic page :3

It kinda puts my post in the spotlight, you know? ^^

"Just as the wave cannot exist for itself, but is ever a part of the heaving surface of the ocean, so must I never live my life for itself, but always in the experience which is going on around me.” - Albert Schweitzer

I honestly never pay attention to the amount of replies a thread has.

:)

The distance between insanity and genius is measured only by success.

The problem with the world is that the intelligent people are full of doubts, while the stupid ones are full of confidence.

As you waste your breath complaining about life, Someone out there is breathing their last. Appreciate what you have.

If you stand for nothing, you will fall for anything.

0 replies excites everyone. It's always a competition.

I would probably say 0 replies makes me want to reply.

First!

Also, no. It's more of the actual topic or the posts in the thread rather than the number of replies.

Cry Havoc And Let Slip The Dogs Of War.

I find I'm the opposite, if a thread is just sitting there with no replies I tend not to give it a second look.

~:O>~~

I guess now it does... thanks.

GGGGGGggggggggggggGGGG

It makes sense to want to post first in a thread. The first post is usually the most looked-at one, and will therefore get more replies. Post on the second page and your past will mostly, go unnoticed.

But does being noticed really matter?

;)

Yep. Why else would my heart fill with joy when you quoted me?

ROFL

I agree.

  • 04.24.2012 8:58 AM PDT

Only sometimes. I usually don't pay attention to the number of replies.

/slow clap for respect

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Don't worry. I feel the same way.

  • 04.24.2012 10:25 AM PDT

Yes, sometimes.. depending on what the threads about.

  • 04.24.2012 10:33 AM PDT

I prefer to post in a new thread or a thread with less than 10 replies. Anything more and I risk being scrolled over or ending up with "last post of the page" syndrome.

i only post in large threads if there's rolling discussion i can get into. Otherwise those posts also may get ignored

It's a shame that a lot of good insightful threads go un-noticed.

  • 04.24.2012 12:09 PM PDT

I feel the same way. When the thread is "hot topic," your post kind of gets lost.

Yeah, I feel the same way OP.

There may not be a "I" in team, but there is a "I" in Win.

I would say of all the posts in a forum I only go on the ones with 0-100 replies. Too many are just plain stupid or the ones that have alot I look at just to read people being or trying to be funny. Although sometimes I wish I could Un-lock a forum to say a clever smart-ass remark!
